I was kinda surprised that Utah Schools pushed reopening until fall, however they are calling it a “soft close” and maybe that opens the door to a possible return before summer? So, I was wrong. My theory was that there are less people dieing in auto accidents because of less clogged roads and less miles driven in Utah due to Chinese Virus corn teen. However, last weekend suggests it may be just the opposite. With less crowded roads,, it seems some people are driving very reckless, getting 100mph+ tickets, and causing high amount of fatal crashes. Last weekend there were 6 fatal deaths on Utah roads. Yanqing Ye, 29, a Chinese national, was charged in an indictment today with one count each of visa fraud, making false statements, acting as an agent of a foreign government and conspiracy. Ye is currently in China.
Zaosong Zheng, 30, a Chinese national, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2019, at Boston’s Logan International Airport and charged by criminal complaint with attempting to smuggle 21 vials of biological research to China. On Jan. 21, 2020, Zheng was indicted on one count of smuggling goods from the United States and one count of making false, fictitious or fraudulent statements. He has been detained since Dec. 30, 2019.

Yeah I don't believe it was engineered but I personally haven't ruled out the theory that it escaped from the Virology lab.

That institute being in the same city as the outbreak gives enough reason to warrant a thorough investigation. But China has a problem with transparency. I think most governments do.

Blaming it on the wet market is plausible and it wouldn't be the first or last time a virus mutates and makes a jump. But if it did come from that lab then it needs to be determined how and why to prevent this from happening again. And to hold them accountable. But China is not the only country with virology research going on.

Even right now most everyone at work is except those of us in the lab. If I worked direct care I would wear one.

I hate being sick. If I can have a shot to ward off the gumboo I will. I know it isn't 100% but I do it every year. It hasn't killed me yet or my kids or anyone else I know that gets it.

Because I worked in clinical microbiology they had me immunized for meningitis. I see it as added protection. Why not utilize vaccinations?

I don't understand anti-vaxers or I won't do it because it is against my rights... but everyone has a right to chose. I respect that. I just don't understand it.

I have been waiting for an article like this one. I have seen lab values that match everything they talk about in this piece. The damage this virus is capable of is incredible. If you end up as one of those who are in the hospital for over a month you will have life long damage from this virus. Nerve damage, brain damage, lung damge, kidney damage, liver damage... some if it may eventually repair itself but a good deal of it won't. And this can happen to any age patient it just all depends on how your body responds to this virus.

I was told by a couple of friends (who work in the medical field) that no one should get whatever vaccine is developed to combat coronovirus initially. I am pretty skeptical of them coming out with a vaccine in 18 months or ever. I know they have started trials in Washington and a few other places. And technology moves at a faster pace then it use to. It isn't a cheap process developing a vaccine.

I would want to know what/if any side effects had been reported. If nothing crazy I probably be okay with it. The biggest question I would have is does it provide long term immunity or will you need a booster shot each year. I know that so far they haven't been able to develop a vaccine for any of the viruses in the coronavirus family. Which is why I am skeptical they will develop an effective one for SARS-COV-2

When he offers hope, he’s lying and when he’s straight forward, he should be hopeful. It’s a no win, but he is not deterred by all of that BS coming from the press and the liberals.

This reminds me of a season of "Alone", one of those "survive the longest and win money" kind of TV series a few years ago. A guy I know made it to 2nd place.

So there was this Survival teacher, school teacher that taught survival techniques. He had it all down, what to do, what to build, how to eat, how to hunt.... The only thing he didn't prepare for is the loneliness and boredom. It ATE HIM UP, he was the first to drop out, I think he lasted a day. The winners went like 90 days alone.

I know Lab Corp is coming out with home collection kits... i can tell you all of us lab peeps don't particularly think this is a good idea. We have a hard time with nurses and docs collecting good samples let alone letting general public do it from the nares.

By the way it is National Laboratory Professionals week. Most people don't know we exist or that we hold a 4 year degree and do clinicals before we can get our certification or license depending on the state we work in or that there is a shortage of technologists. You will hear a lot about point of care testing... trust me you don't want you nurse or doctor performing these types of tests without being backed up by a lab scientist that makes sure the testing is done correctly and system is good. Garbage in is garbage out. There is a lot more that goes into these tests then just pushing buttons.

According to the CDC, 14 billion*lab tests*are ordered annually, and*70% of medical*decisions*depend on*laboratory results. That means that*laboratory*professionals play a vital role in healthcare and patient advocacy. Without us your doctor is just guessing.

Yeah, i thought I'd mix it up. CCP - Much easier to type on my phone, than Chinese Wuhan Virus.

I've had several conversations with lefties about why i don't use the latest common terms for it, with them telling me that it's racist, policitally incorrect, and incites violance to refer to the virus using the Country/province of it's origin, which i don't understand. Fair enough. I was not aware of that. The problem is that nobody else was either until Trump started saying it (at the same time as the media).

That said, I get the reasoning behind the change in naming practices. Some of the things that I've seen people do to and say about Chinese people over this are reprehensible and shouldn't be tolerated. If naming it something different helps with that, that's fine.

They don't give a shit about the "rest of the world"...or the people in their own countries, for that matter. This was a direct attack on the USA without bombs or bullets. It was purely strategic. In regards to the oil, Ronald Reagan did the same thing to the Soviet Union in the late 80s...he flooded the market and not just destroyed their economy but lobbed their heads right off...that, along with John Paul ll cruising around Eastern Europe working his magic. Perfect timing.

The Chinese have no chance against us militarily, everything they have is junk. If we were to start shooting, their entire navy (what there is of it) would be on the bottom of the ocean within a half hour. Their Air Force is a joke and 100 million Chinese soldiers screaming at the air waving their rifles aren't going to do a damn thing when there's nothing to shoot at.

Although the Communists appear to have a firm grip on power, they know that at the flip of a switch the people could turn on them and they'd be toast. Hong Kong made them really nervous...especially when they realized they couldn't roll their army in there, kick ass and take control. So what happens in response? Are US businessmen going to pack up and move their operations to Vietnam or Indonesia...some other place with cheap labor? It depends on how deep the corruption goes. Money talks. There's no way to know right now...we'll have to wait to see how it shakes out.

I firmly believe our economy will bounce back nicely. The unemployment was so low that the only people not working didn't want to work...and in regards to those businesses that go under, I reckon they were probably operating right along the edge of failure anyway. This whole thing may actually be like a cleansing...kinda like shaking out the loose teeth. Any business that's worth it's salt will be sold and people will be rehired to work it...probably in most cases the people that were working there anyway. "Under New Ownership".

I think the oil industry will take a while to get ramped up again. They just took a heavy hit. We've got to get back to work and suck up all that surplus. All that equipment, all that machinery, all those claims....they aren't just going to turn to dust. Remember we were selling oil before this happened...and it's going to be 30 years before we're all tooling around in electric cars. Oil will come back.

I thought "Oh, for Christ's sake, there's no way he suggested that people ingest or inject disinfectants. That's just ridiculous".

So I looked it up, and indeed that's NOT what he said...however, he sure vomited up a wacky word salad, that's for sure. Said later that he was being "sarcastic"? If that's the case, then he puked all over his own shoes.

Remember when Clint Eastwood did his "empty chair" thing at the Romney RNC party? Nobody knew what the hell that was all about but I sure did...he was trying to do a Bob Hope routine and utterly failed. Bob Hope could have pulled that off, Clint choked.
