I stand by what I said. Especially after listening to the video I posted on the GHS index that you put so much stalk in grading the US ability to deal with a pandemic. Just because we scored 83.4 doesn't make us more prepared for COVID than any other country. Proof in the numbers of the graphic you just posted above.

Maybe I haven't been paying attention to conspiracy stuff, but I haven't the slightest idea what the heck this is...who the hell would want to go there? Sounds pretty heavy, though.


Alright so up front, there is a MAJOR likelihood that this is pure conspiracy stuff, but slap those tin foil hats on for a minute and ask some questions. I'm not saying to blindly accept this, but just ask some questions, if some things were possible.

I'll say this, I do believe the COVID19 virus is real, is legit, but it is also being used for it's timing.

He was just one of many of the world's super powerful people involved in this horrible trade. Thousands. Not just trafficking, but abuse, murder, and even darker things. That wasn't just a unique "artistic" building on his island, it was a temple.

And the people he had dirt on; camera footage, and of course we all know about the flight logs and just a peek at some of the big names there.

But Epstein is only a fraction of this worldwide trade. I don't mean to offend any Roman Catholics, but how much do we know about the Vatican's rumors about trafficking? Italy. Lockdown.

I was about to get into some other stuff but it's pretty dark, I think I'll stop there for now. Maybe it's for another thread.

But here's the point. Trump and his Intelligence Team are on top of it. Think about Podesta's emails and Anthony Weiner's laptop. Do you ever wonder what happened with the horrifying things that were found there?

I'm going to remain skeptical to this stuff until 4/11/20. This is the date that some major news is expected to break. Expect some big names, and some of our favorite people too, unfortunately. Remember some of the busts over the past couple of years hinting to this? It's sort of been forgotten, but not to the justice dept. It's coming. Sealed Indictments, over 100K of them.

The point is, while the media is CONSUMED with COVID19, it's the perfect cover for these arrests to begin. Do a little digging on how the National Guard has been activated. Is this really to keep people in their homes? If arrests happen, what would the rich and resourceful try to do first? oops, can't fly now. OK well how about the powerful corrupt change the narrative with protests and riots, maybe sprinkle in a mass shooting or two? oops, no can do, can't have a mass shooting if everybody's home and nobody's in public. I guess Walmart might be a target but it's not a gun free zone, so good luck.

Trump is going to try and suspend Habeas Corpus, this means holding people before trial. Where could they be held in the big problem cities? How about some newly prepared "hospital" ships. By the way, what's the next escape route if you can't fly? Water. And the Coast Guard is secretly ALL OVER that right now.

EDIT: New theory for the hospital ships, they will be for the rescued victims of human trafficking. Potentially hundreds of thousands, hopefully, will be freed. Can you imagine what a wake up call this will be in 2 weeks?

There's a lot more to this, I've been following it for 2 years now, but it's all going down in the next 2 weeks. I'm willing to wait until April 11th or Easter to see how it went, to fully buy into it or not.

I'll tell you what, if nothing happens by then and this theory was all a bunch of BS, I'm willing to make a full acknowledgement. But the source for this stuff says to "get popcorn and enjoy the show".

The main message is a positive one. Great things are happening, justice is coming. And this Virus threat will be taken care of swiftly. Compare with the Swine Flu for reference. A few hundred compared to thousands.

With way less cars and transportation going on in the cities, I hope health officials are analyzing the air especially during this time.

Later they will be able to say accurately that yes, cars are 50% responsible for the smog in the SLC valley, or that Kennecot gives off more pollution than we thought, and so on.

Who knows? But I am just hoping that some group is doing that.

In fact, this is probably a good time to do a lot of these types of studies with humans out of the way for the next 30 days or so.

Most likely they were never put into use. If they follow protocol like we do in the labs here in the US. You have to validate the new test against the old method or gold standard before you start using the test. You would take several known positive samples and several known negative samples and run them side by side on both testing platforms and compare the results. However if they were using them before validating the tests they were telling patients that were positive that they were negative and off they went to infect more people.

The tests in question came from a company called Shenzhen Bioeasy Technology, and were found to have 30-35% probability of detecting a true positive test.

This is one of the reasons, we can't just start willy nilly testing people in house once we get a test kit that will test for SARS-CoV2 we have to validate the test method first. Make sure the test does what it says it will.

What could make a test fail to catch a positive? If the specimen is not collected correctly , not transported correctly, not tested in a timely manner, or the test is just shitty.

In digging a bit further this particular test you dip a swab of the patient's saliva into an extraction fluid, if the virus is present it would cause a color change. Inherently this test is going to be less sensitive or specific than RT-PCR methods. I would say it is more of a screening test. Easy way to catch some positive patients but a backup method would be needed for any negative test result. We do this with rapid strep tests. A positive strep is considered positive, if the test comes up negative we send it to micro to be plated and checked manually.

First not all foreign kits would be faulty. But again any test you bring on in a lab should be validated to prove it works like it says it does.

What happened in the US is that typically a new disease like this would be sent for testing to a State Lab not your hospital lab and in the beginning not a reference lab. Which in a fast moving pandemic is not enough to contain the disease as we have witnessed with how quickly it spread in the US.

The CDC received the primer sequence from China and sent out kits as soon as they could to the State Labs, but there was an issue with one of the reagents in the test kit sent by our own CDC. This really hampered testing. I don't know what reagent it is, just what I have read. But having worked with PCR... good grief there is a lot that can go wrong. So having a CDC test that fails is no better than one that can only catch a positive result 35% of the time.

We use tests manufactured from all over the world. So not using one from China is not really a logical move as long as you can prove it is a good test through validation and verification. But how do you do this with an emerging disease? You have to have known positives. The CDC not choosing to use an already developed test isn't really a bad point or a good point in my opinion. I think it is one area that needs to be looked at for future outbreaks.

Anyway the CDC chose to develop their own. They also discouraged labs from developing their own in house test which some place are more than capable of doing once they have the correct primer sequence. But there is still a bunch of hoops you have to jump through to use an in house developed test. So in my opinion the CDC failed pretty hard on this point as well. And again should be looked at for future outbreaks.

With our current system any new test has to be FDA approved, follow CLIA guidelines and yadda yadda yadda... that can take at best months to get but more like over a year. Granting several companies Emergency Use Authorization was exactly what they needed to do. CDC scores a point here. But it is good we have all these guidelines in place because if we didn't we wouldn't have reliable testing.


As soon as each lab can validate and verify these new test, they will bust their butts to get as much testing done as they can. We just have to be able to keep the tests kits in house and then we can start to catch up.

Is this outage going to include credit card charges? Will I be able to buy anything at the store with my CC, or will they go cash only during the blackout? In slightly stressing over what things I may need as society continues to spiral downhill at an alarming rate, the thought of lack of cash came to my mind a couple of weeks ago, and I asked my wife if we shouldn't go to the bank and take out a good wad of cash in small bills for emergencies. Just to be clear. I am not panicked by this outbreak more people die of diabetes than will from this virus yet Americans me included don't do much about our horrible diets. If we poured the same amount of energy into diets as this virus imagine the lives we could save.

I have had a fascination with all things microscopic since I was in elementary school one of the first big reports I ever researched and wrote was on the Black Death... in fact I am pretty certain in a memory box somewhere I still have that report. I have a healthy respect for viruses and bacteria and diseases they can cause. So tiny, yet so miserably deadly. I guess that is why microbiology has always been my favorite subject and why I am involved in teaching it.

Anyway back to the video. Singapore, South Korea, and China all have apps that alert citizens to infected people and where they have been. That would never fly in America. I think many of us me included would find that too invasive.

I thought you all might enjoy the video. They do more than just track people to help reduce the spread of an outbreak. I think the biggest measure was making sure every hospital had the ability to test for the virus as soon as they knew about it. Giving them the ability to start the contact tracing and help stop the chain of transmission. Three other measures that I think are key are keeping everything in public spaces super clean. Education, education, education. And last temp checks frequently in public places.

Having a solid plan in place that public is aware of would help decrease the panic at least I hope it would. Shutting down an entire society is ludicrous. But overloading the healthcare system with sick people because you are not prepared can't happen.

I know it's a joke, but...I wouldn't put much trust in this theory, especially after what's happened over the last month.

It’s completely detached from reality and it’s spread nonsense conspiracy theories for three years.
It’s a constant hate fest aimed at President Donald Trump, no matter the facts.

Landlords do a lot with rent money more than just throw it out in their swimming pool of money and swim around in it. They use to to do maintenance, repairs, pay taxes, she even often pay utilities. With no rent coming in, if tenants HVAC went down, how do they pay for an HVAC service repair? Do they just not pay the utilities if they don’t get rent, and let the tenants complain about it? Education is the biggest recipient of property taxes. Dues a landlord get a 1/12 reduction in property taxes since they lose a months worth of rent, and tell educators they lose a months worth of pay?

I don't know if he has the legal authority to do that, but the fact of the matter is that a landlord would have a dickens of a time getting to court right now. All my hearings are now postponed into June. Even criminal matters, unless you are in jail, are postponed. Also, with the executive order, I am not sure that any sheriff deputy would enforce a Writ of Execution (Court order to evict) and force someone on the streets. I do think the courts, as an independent branch of the government, could ignore the governor's executive order and force the issue. I'm sure there is a judge out there who would love to pick a fight with the executive branch of government. I'm just not sure anyone would enforce a court order during these times.

All across the country, from POTUS down to city mayors, and every level in between, elected officials are making big decisions and excercising power limiting freedoms and liberties, shutting down businesses, ordering people to stay at place in home, directing public protocols for personal contact, interaction, distancing, etc. Whether their decisions can be argued right vs wrong, how much were these officials questioned, screened and vetted on their public crisis mitigation, and challenged on what information and resources they would refer to in the event of a public safety crisis, how they would tow the line between managing personal liberties and freedom vs. public safety and security? Did any of them campaign on how they would select and appoint their public health officials, and how they would defer and listen to those officials in a crisis? Were they questioned in town halls, debates, online forums on what they would do under different circumstances to protect the public in different scenarios?

How will future (especially near term) campaigns, town halls, forums, and debates change to better vet out elected officials for such crisis?
