The soothing sounds of the GFD Ripple. Just what I need right now before a little road trippin.
You either know it or you don't .
Very soothing.

I've seen Halestorm in concert.... Or I guess you could call it a concert, as it was at a local bar that only holds a couple hundred people. Anyhoo.... They were in Salt Lake about two weeks ago... great show by one of my favorite bands. Lizzy really has a set of pipes.

It was also pretty cheap as it was only a $15 cover charge to get through the door.
Maybe a word of warning, the concert here sold out the day before. It was a good thing my wife picked up tickets in advance. The band was a lot bigger around Utah then I would have guessed.

Nothing at the moment.
I'm enjoying the silence and give my ears a little time to relax from yesterdays concert of Halestorm.
Halstorm was a really good gig in a living room atmosphere.
The opening act was performed by Zico Chain, young musicians from London.
Thanks again @ iceaxe (http://www.bogley.com/forum/member.php?36-Iceaxe) for the advice!

^^^Johnny Cash stole this famous song. It was originally released in 1994 by Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails. It was then redone by Johnny Cash in 2002, who received enormous critical acclaim. Does Trent Reznor receive royalties since he was the original artist?
I think Cash did a fine job of covering it, but gets a D- for creativity in my book.

Usually at the climbing gym they play douche rock and stupid ska or some weird abstract crap that the ultra hippies like. It gets on my nerves because it's the same playlist over and over. Tonight they had a sweet 70's rock theme going. Skynyrd, early Aerosmith, CCR, Zeppelin, Scorpions, Queen. All the good stuff without the crap. It was pretty good. So I came home and turned on some CCR and plugged my strat into my dusty amp.

Wasatch...dude, where are you getting all the LPs? Are you a full on record hound or have a kickass library nearby? Seems like you're keen on the remasters, too. All that music sure sounds better on a nice sound system, eh? I remember listening to a lot of the 70s stuff on a crappy car radio, never knowing what was really there.
So you like that early Scorpions, huh?...I dare ya to slap up a picture of the Virgin Killer cover.

I got back into vinyl about 3-4 years ago, and bought a whole new rig. I've been buying vinyl ever since again (wish I never sold my collection off in the early 80s) at that time was collecting vinyl since about 1964. I do not have that Scorpions anymore, just the first one. Here are a few pics of my rig.

You are HARDCORE! You've got it all amped up. I imagine it sounds really nice, as I have a friend here in Denver that's into high audio with the vinyl as well...powered speakers, super amps, thousands upon thousands of dollars in gear. I've hung out in his basement and listened to albums...his set up is similar to yours. Seems like you guys are a tight group...he's told me about places online where the gear heads argue about minutiae. His name is Scott Killian, he's a freelance camera/audio man.
My rig is a 1989 Kenwood amp...the kind that had all the fancy surround stuff that was popular at the time, but no plug in for an sub! But I don't need it, 'cuz it's remarkably powerful...enough to drive two sets of speakers...Cerwin Vega AT-15 (the big boys) from '89 as well and a set of DCM TimeFrame series. I don't bother with the turntable...I play CDs through a nice Blu-ray player.
Let me tell ya, it sounds AWESOME. And it's worth a fraction of the stuff you and Scott use. Not saying you spend too much...but I know all about frequencies and "warmth". Maybe it's because my gear is so old...perhaps they just don't make it like that anymore

Cool! I love music and my goal is to reproduce it as near to the real thing, lol A couple of years ago I had a vintage setup, on top of what I have now. For me, tubes are the way to go, very natural sounding especially in the vocals/midrange.

Bad music is a form of murder to the true art of music in general
(http://mutil8or.blogspot.com/2015/11/bad-music-is-form-of-murder-to-true-art.html)
Bad music forced on a child is abuse because it invariably forms that child´s taste in music. Bad music has raped an industry that was held up strongly by great expression for decades but now finds itself floundering, giving in to the lowest common denominator of music just to keep its panties around its waist.
Bad music tortures the eardrums and kills little bits of your senses through prolonged exposure. Bad music steals money from shallow pockets, steals airtime from more deserving bands and songwriters, and steals the spotlight from undiscovered geniuses who have all but given up on a dream because of the mediocrity of popular radio. Bad music is a lie, and yet it is foisted on the public in an attempt to turn melodies and songs into hamburgers and fries
Bad music is truly a sin because you don´t have to be exceptional to make it in the music industry anymore. You just have to be good enough to stick around and be tolerated. I understand that bad music is a matter of opinion. I know that. But I am fairly confident that more people agree with me than you suspect.
Bad music is just ****ing bad.

Kate Bush is awesome. Check out all her albums before this one...The Kick Inside and The Dreaming in particular.I agree 100%. I love everything she's ever done. I have a real attachment to Hounds of Love though. Happy memories of late nights driving around in the middle of nowhere with good friends and Kate Bush cranked loud on the stereo. This album and XTC's Skylarking remind me of summer nights and good friends.
So great!
