Timeline for all of us living vicariously.

Yeah, the day after I hung out at your place. I bought a 2021 Ford F-350...I had it ordered and it won't be delivered until X-mas time. I ordered it because I absolutely have to have leather seats...and the trucks they have on the lots are either stripped work trucks or fully loaded $75,000 whoppers...the one I wanted is just north of the middle, luxe but not too luxe.

Right after taking possession of the vehicle, I'll be driving to the middle of Kansas to have the flatbed mounted...and then I have to wait until the middle of February for the camper to be built and installed. All these truck camper manufactures are booked months in advance...Four Wheel Campers has a yearlong wait. Mine is going to be made by Hallmark and it's only a four month wait because they're a lot nicer and more expensive that the competition. He told me "normal" wait time for a build is 2 months. Regardless, I'll be glad to have it right at the start of spring and look forward the the initial "shakedown cruise"...perhaps two or three weeks in March to get familiar and make sure everything works as it should, get it outfitted and then spend next summer really getting some use out of it.

Funny thing...I went around to nearly every Ford dealer in town and had them bidding against each other for my money. Every single one was low on stock for these Super Duty trucks as they're selling them as soon as they hit the lots. The only ones you'll find are either basic or big bucks...all those in the mid zone (50-60K) are getting snatched up. They told me it's like this all over the west, in particular. Ford is only offering a $500 rebate on these trucks...that tells you something, that they're selling like hotcakes. I can't tell you how it is with Ram or Chevy, as I didn't even look at their trucks.
