Jamal and Richie, thank you for what you said about the picture.

Jamal, you're very close but it is not Deer Creek.

Could you or somebody say the name of this canyon (ending in Upper Paria) or the name given by Kelsey for just the slot part ?

To help a little, this hoodoo (which is named from the signature that is writen on it) is just a couple hundred yards from the slot canyon :

If nobody can tell the name of the canyon or the slot until Sunday's evening, I'll say that Jamal won.

It looks like Johnson Hole Canyon, but I thought that was more than a few hundred yards from that hoodoo?
Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

You nailed it ! Kelsey names this part of the canyon "Red slot".

After verification on Google Earth, Sam Pollock Hoodoo is about 0.6 mile from the lower entrance of Red Slot (that's more than "a couple of hundred yards" that I remembered).

The only thing I can come up with is Escalante Natural Bridge... but I don't think that is it.

Looks like Grosvenors Arch to me?

cool I'll need to find a picture worthy to place here that isn't instant recognizable. I'll try tonight but I'm busy and it might not happen until Wednesday night. If that's too late for some of you play a short round before I post my pic.

Is this in the Cottonwood/Paria area??

by the way, the cottonwood road looks to be open, went by the south end last week and the barricade was removed, still might want to call though.

Drove by on Saturday was pleasantly surprised to see that there was no barricade. We called the road conditions line anyways and were told that the north end of the road was a complete nightmare and impassible.
    So around we went

Correctly name the high point the series of pictures were taken from.

Hint look at the background not the summit rocks for recognizable details.

each day I'll post another picture(s) that will reveal more details until a correct answer is given.
