TR: Timp Hike...
Well I saw the post about emerald lake and thought I would post my TR as well. We left 5:30 Saturday morning and did the whole up and down to the summit in 9 hours. The going up wasn't bad, but the going down was crazy hard on my knees.
Right now is the time to go... flowers are great, and the snow is perfect!

Looks like a great trip, but a little crowded up top. I may have to call in sick this week and go hike Timp.

Some in our group (girls) were hesitant about going down the snow field. But after we all did they thanked me for talking them into doing it.

I'm just coming off ACL replacement surgery, and my knees can't take the downhill pounding very well yet. I've found that trekking poles really help keep the pressure off your knees, and I can go pretty much wherever I want when I'm using them. (Even if I feel like a giant cheater). I picked mine up from Recreation Ghetto...errr...Recreation Outlet in SLC for less than $50. You may want to try a pair. (I would suggest springing for cork handles, the rubbers ones on my poles give me blisters).
