It's actually taken from right next to Liberty Cap. I'll provide the answer now so someone else can go since I will be camping with the scouts after work and can't answer. Maybe Richie can go since he was the one guessing Colorado NM.

The road going to Cinnamon Pass from Animas Fork ?
Philippe
Yeah, looks like the 'Million Dollar Highway' area - Route 550, between Silverton and Ouray.
You're both general in the right area but not on the right road
Is it the road to Yankee Boy Basin?
Actually maybe that was rude of me to guess right before I leave town.
Camp Bird Road?
Nope
The road going to Ice Lakes.
You're getting close Philippe. Very close.
The road going to Clear Lake ?
Perfect Philippe, your turn.
Where is this slot canyon ?

Guess it would be unfair to try it (I know your trip report about it ).
Capitol Reef National Park
looks like sandston found east of zion by mt carmel, orderville, glendale off of the glendale bench.
My guess is Upper Paria... maybe Deer Creek?
Nice pic btw.

Thanks :wink:Quote:
but I was also sure that you were fair
I would rather say: It's GREAT! I love this picture.Quote:

Jamal and Richie, thank you for what you said about the picture.
Jamal, you're very close but it is not Deer Creek.
Could you or somebody say the name of this canyon (ending in Upper Paria) or the name given by Kelsey for just the slot part ?
To help a little, this hoodoo (which is named from the signature that is writen on it) is just a couple hundred yards from the slot canyon :
Attachment 42041
If nobody can tell the name of the canyon or the slot until Sunday's evening, I'll say that Jamal won.
It looks like Johnson Hole Canyon, but I thought that was more than a few hundred yards from that hoodoo?
The only thing I can come up with is Escalante Natural Bridge... but I don't think that is it.
Looks like Grosvenors Arch to me?
La Ventana Arch in New Mexico?
Yes; that's it. It's a very famous arch.Quote:
La Ventana Arch in New Mexico?
Well- just to keep this going.Attachment 42110
Is this in the Cottonwood/Paria area??
by the way, the cottonwood road looks to be open, went by the south end last week and the barricade was removed, still might want to call though.
Painted Mines near Calhan (Colorado) ?
A very easy one, just to wait for Trackrunner's picture.
Where is this ruin located ?
Is it the one at the northern end of Behind the Rocks near the Moab Rim?
Correctly name the high point the series of pictures were taken from.
Hint look at the background not the summit rocks for recognizable details.
each day I'll post another picture(s) that will reveal more details until a correct answer is given.
