In reading history, it amazes me how close we've come to a completely different reality to what we have now. If the Japanese hadn't bombed Pearl Harbor or Hitler hadn't invaded Russia, Europe and the entire Far East would be something entirely different. It's hard to contemplate...the bullets that were dodged, the close calls. What if the Germans would have kicked our asses at Normandy? Or we hadn't supplied all those arms to Stalin?

I understand that these statues are offensive for some people and bring back bad memories, but that remains in history anyway. We cannot deny the truth that such events took place. And the fact that they remove these statues will decide absolutely nothing because the mentality of some people won't change, unfortunately.
But I think it's not a big deal. Like, many people believe that these statues are useless. Most often, tourists pay attention to them because they like to take pictures. And in such cases, if they so badly want to take photos in historic locations, they can easily do a location hire (http://www.aperfectspace.com/).
