Is the exc the model for trails and enduro and desert?
It's an 08 or 09 but has plenty of goodies that comes with it.

Yep...and almost all KTMs are 6 speeds and have the magic button. Actually I don't know any models off the top of my head that don't...

So acca what is the difference of or rather is there a model I wan't for this kind of ridding and is it streetable?
I have no clue just yet but I know you had one that I wanted earlier this year.
I'm a bit of a power hound and I'm also thinking about the 500. I think it is only like 25 lbs more in weight.

ONLY 25 more pounds? :haha:
I don't think you can make a 2-stroke street legal?
I love my 390 and it fits me VERY well. I am much faster and more confident on it. I don't have to manage all that extra power that I rarely use and it's much more nimble. I think the KTM 350 would be very similar.

Yep and I forgot to answer his question. The EXC is the street version from the factory and the XCW is dirt. I've preferred the EXC for some time, but now (next time) I might choose the XCW like I got with my 390. The Husaberg 390 and 450 come setup for dirt. Ready To Race! (They actually stole that slogan from Husaberg and changed Husaberg's to 4 Stroke Force)
Reasons to get the dirt model:

You can street legal the 300. If they ever start emissions on bikes that could be a problem but right now it is legal. The 300 will do it because it has a battery. Have a buddy that put one of the kits on his and rides it all over. Everyone I know that has one loves it. Lots of power and light. I have toyed with buying one several times just do not want to have to mix the fuel. The gas mileage on them is not the best either.

The thought of a much lighter 2 stroke woods bike with lights and a plate has crossed my mind a time or two. :naughty:

I think a two stroke 300 with magic button, barely legal kit and rekluse clutch would be the ultimate!

Right up until the Forest Service bans 2 strokes... like they've been trying to do with snowmobiles and personal water craft!

My buddy just ordered on for his 300 KTM. Can't wait to ride it and see how the recluse acts in a 2 stroke vs how mine feels in my 4 stroke.
