Great one! Is this a better area to hike than on the Grand itself? I'd think the view of Grand would be great but Prospector's Mountain may get in the way of a full view. The cirques/lakes at the top of Open Canyon look nice to explore.

Nailed it! Nice sleuthing.
Open Canyon is beautiful. This hike was amazing. We hiked into Phelps Lake and camped there 2 nights. Did some fishing, watched someone get short hauled off the Shnaz (sp?). On the middle day, we did this hike. 11.2 miles round trip from the campsites to mt hunt divide, then another 2 mi or so round trip of cross country hiking and scrambling on some pretty sketchy lose rock. View from up top is great, but not much of the grand can be seen.

It really looks like the area around the White River, but I don't think you can drive accross that one. The creek looks too big to be Sweetwater Canyon or Bitter Creek.
I also thought of the Price River east of Woodside, but I don't think that's right. The cliffs are too low.
It's a good photo since it's hard to recognize.

No to all the above. In fact, all guesses so far are in the wrong state (except perhaps for part of Dinosaur NM, but that's a long way away). Arches would be the closest place guessed to this location, but is still ~ 70 miles away.
If no one guesses, I'll give the answer tomorrow evening and someone else can go.
I'm really surprised no one has got it yet, especially since it's a very popular trail, IntrepidXJ has this one on his website and several Bogley members live within spitting distance of the trailhead. Try recruiting some of the Grand Junction bogley folks to this thread and it's a sure bet that it will be guessed immediately.

Porterville church,
Porterville Church
The original church house was erected in 1898 and subsequently dedicated in 1908 by President Joseph F. Smith. Eventually, costs of maintenance and needed repairs led the congregation to remodel the old school house and convert it for use as a church. Although the school house was sold to the ward in 1936, it was not until 1946 that regular meetings were held in the refinished space, mostly due to World War II. The church was sold to Marvin and Grace Kilbourn who, despite efforts at preservation, were unable to prevent vandalism over the next several decades. In 1970, the Bergman family purchased the church and remodeled it into a home while keeping the exterior intact.[5] In 1971, it was added to the Utah State Register of Historic Sites, which is now inactive.[6] In the conversion to a private home, the steeple tower that was wood framed with Gothic-arched frames on each side was removed.[7] After being seen in Troll 2 filmed in the area in 1989, a fire in 2000 destroyed all but a shell of the original building.[8] wikipedia

It sure looks like that cave with the river running out of it up Logan Canyon. I can't remember the name of it, and it has been many years since I've been up there. I'll see if I can find the name.

Sorry, I thought I'd wait for more than 2 guesses before I give hints.

So did I (hint hint), but this photo is from an earlier trip. For what it's worth, I remember seeing this in about 1998 or 1999, and I'm sure the road has been resurfaced a couple of times since then, so it looks like the crack-seal crew must have reapplied it each time.
