Thread: Illusions Canyon

    Illusions Canyon

This past weekend we headed to Arizona for Illusions & Insomnia Canyons. When we arrived it was a whopping 32 degrees. I thought Arizona was supposed to be hot??? We started off with Illusions canyon first. The canyon was slightly flowing at the drop in resulting in the potholes being completely full. 5mm wetsuit with booties was not enough to keep ine comfortable. Midway through the canyon we were all shivering from the cold. The video below is deceptive with the sunlight. All potholes full.

Sunday morning we set off for insomnia canyon. The first part of the canyon was a bush wack through brush and down climb over logs. Before long we arrived at the big drop. We opted to use the car mat for protection. 2nd person down we noticed a core shot. We reset the rope and tripled over the car mat for added protection. The 320 ft rappel is dead on accurate. I already posted this video in a earlier thread.

Nice! Short n sweet little video.

Was it this one or Imsomnia that had the dead bears in it? Maybe I'm getting that mixed up from a few years ago...

I was hoping for more vid of the last rap though.

    Thanks for sharing!

Illusions (The video attached) was the one with the dead Bear. The canyon for us was lightly flowing making everything completely full. We were able to swim out with ease. Pictures of the last rappel. Sorry not a good picture
