So in a nutshell here is the BIG problem with the Democrats impeachment... they have just loaded the GOP's war chest.....

Conversation with my 18 year old daughter last night:

D: Dad, did you hear they just impeached Trump!!!?
Me: Yeah, they impeached him in the House of Representatives, but he's not out yet. It's got to go through the Senate, and they'll never impeach him.
D: No, really, they just impeached him. I saw it on facebook.
Me: I know that. I watched the vote. That doesn't mean he's out of office though.
D: Why would they say that he was impeached then?
Me: Because he was, but it's only a half victory for them. The media is trying to fool you and manipulate you by only giving you half the information in the headline so that you'll click on the article. Since you don't do that, you don't know what is going on.

I then proceed to tell her that it's all a farce and based solely on politics and hearsay.

Eventually she just said she doesn't want to talk about it anymore and that she won't ever vote for Trump. Because.....Trump.

God help us. We're in the hands of young people who get there information and education on how government works from social media.

Look on the bright side -- maybe her frustration will impel her to do some additional reading and studying about government and politics. Disappointment and frustration make great teachers.

I hope so. She actually looked genuinely disappointed. I told her she can vote for whoever she thinks will do the best job, but that she should actually listen to what they are saying and learn about what that means rather than just vote against the other guy all the time.

I doubt anything will come of it, but you never know.

It's not true.... some website wrote a sartorial piece on the subject and like the idiot's they are a bunch of folks jumped on the idea and took off running with checking the facts.

There's nothing is the Constitution about that. Completely untrue.

And in other games... the Swamp Princes is now threatening to not send the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate because they will not get a fair hearing... you just couldn't make this stuff up. No one has any idea what would happen if Pelosi just sits on the Articles as it's never happened before. When Slick Willy was impeached the Articles were sent to the Senate 10 minutes after the vote.

Well if the articles don't move on to the Senate then what's the point of voting for impeachment at all? Either way Trump remains in office.

This has been my question all along.

The average mainstream social-media follower is not well versed in the mechanics of government and constitutional procedures, so there HAS to be literally millions of folks out there today, right now who are celebrating and just waiting for the official Trump-removal ceremony to be announced.

And when just the opposite happens and he's re-elected for another 4 years there's gotta be another flamboyant backlash. They've already taken to the streets dressed up like an anatomically correct vagina --- what's gonna top that?
