Thread: Global Warming? I don't know what to believe.

In terms of my resume for not just "believing what I'm told", I don't consider myself Republican or Democrat because I disagree with allowing a political party to tell me what to believe. After a lifetime in Mormonism, I stopped believing what I was told which was more painful than any other pain I have endured in my life. I have succeeded in running my own business after being told that I couldn't. etc. At the very least, I feel like I have a pretty good track record for not just accepting / believing what I'm told. I didn't believe in Climate Change originally because of how I was told but when I researched it with an open mind, I came to believe.

    Attachment 97064

    • Don't spend money on symbolic gestures (like the Paris Accord)
    • Any taxes on emissions should be spent directly to combat emissions
    • Hold Big Businesses more accountable

    • Use Nuclear Energy
      • Factories
      • Shipping Vessels
      • Cities
      • etc.

    • The list goes on but I doubt many people are still reading at this point

During President Obama's administration there was a Government shutdown. As part of the shutdown, the Government shut down the White House tours. Then citizen, Donald Trump, offered to personally pay the expenses for White House tours to continue, President Obama refused to allow a citizen to pay for the tours because "that's not how Government works" and he wanted the people to feel the effects of the shutdown. The best way to fight climate change is to do the opposite of how Government Shutdowns are enforced. Find the ways that the the public will feel the last but have the best return on investment rather than as a means of controlling, taxing, & hindering the public.

My skin is pretty thick, but I appreciate your efforts to communicate without offending me. I assure you that I'm totally fine.

Ted calls out John Kerry and the climate cops for their blatant hypocrisy. This is GOLDEN.

The context of it is what was missing...with your highlighted video of some 15 year old kid with an ice core as an example I assumed that you were either trolling or quite serious. If quite serious I certainly wanted more detail...the kid with his chunk of ice isn't anything new. I wanted to hear more, from you personally about it, and I did.

You're response is fantastic and I really wouldn't be inclined to disagree with anything you've said...actually sounds like a great plan.

But like I said, the problem is "good luck with that". Both our hopes for any kind of real progress in "cleaning up" just about anything is wishful thinking. Remember all that concern about the rain forests in the 80s? They're mowing down the Congo as we speak. Had a buddy who spent two months traveling all over Africa tell me the entire continent is a lost cause...said he was shocked.

I also would say the most of the criticism of "climate change" around here is directed more towards the messengers, not necessarily the message. At least that's the way it is with me.

Anyway...I'm glad you came back in with a response. You should know that I'm the kind of guy that demands meat on the bones and you certainly didn't waste your time diving into this.

I'm very glad to hear that. I kind of guessed that my post was too long for anyone to read, so I appreciate you doing so and having thoughtful feedback.

With the massive success the left has had at implementing massive control and power in response to the plandemic to strip away rights and freedoms in the name of public health , it didn’t take a huge stretch of the imagination to predict them transitioning their method to implement their tactics with regards to climate change. And as expected, here we go…. How long until they declare a climate change pandemic?
