I'm waiting on Newt. One of the very few to adamantly predict Trump in 2016.

But more than all that, the campaign is 9 months in on 10. There's little else to move. Trump is the issue, yes or no, that's what this vote is. We were not able to make leftism the issue.

Add Pat Buchanan's article to the mix. He's the OG of MAGA. Before Perot.

He echoes what I thought on debate night. Trump screamed instability and lack of temperament. The worst single debate performance of all time by an incumbent president, imo, and I've watched all of them over the years from Kennedy-Nixon. Student of history. Pat just put it nicely, but he summed it up correctly.

You have to look to Bush 92 and Carter 80 for the next worst, and those were just weak performances by comparison. Ford's 76 gaffe was historic, maybe that one as a single moment.

I'm still working till the bitter end regardless.

Well.....I guess the only thing to ask now is...

    1. I wonder what Trump will say in his concession speech (if he even gives one at all)?

    2. I wonder if I'll get a refund for all of my guns when Biden comes for them next year?

    3. I wonder how many more Supreme Court justices the Democrats will add next year?

Dougrz -- why keep campaigning at all anymore? It's OVER. Trump lost. Get over it.

I'd bet anyone $10,000 right now that Trump wins.

On election night '16 I came home from work fully expecting Hillary to be crowned Queen Of The United States. For a year and a half all we had heard was that Trump was a stinking piece of shit...they covered him 24/7, mocking his every move. They even had him on tape bragging about grabbing top of the line snatch.

    Anybody wanna take the bet?

Hey man -- Trump blew it, didn't you read what Pat Buchanan had to say? Trump was gonna blast Biden in a landslide, but he screwed it all up and now that Marxist AOC will usher in Communism in America.

Haven't you been paying attention? Trump has already lost. Best you can do now is just go build a bunker in the mountains and live off the land. There's no hope now.

So tonight we get to see Pence and the woman who would be President should Biden win. In a way I really don't think it matters as much as the pundits make it out to be...I would say those that are committed either way won't be swayed...especially the Trumpers.

It also seems like more attention is paid to the moderators than the actual candidates themselves. I wonder if the cupcake tonight will put Harris under the microscope regarding packing the courts, the riots, BLM, etc...probably not. She'll probably evade or try to land in the middle of things and he'll let her get away with it.

If anything, should "Biden" win, we'll get a good look at the person Doug says will be leading the Communist Vanguard that'll take over. Isn't that something?...a woman that no one really knows anything about (except for being a champion two face) would be able to do what the almighty Clinton machine and the entirety of the progressive media and oligarchs could not.

@rockgremlin, you gotta start with understanding your position. Rule 1 of battle, lay of the field. Would you rather have zombies proclaiming Trump in a landslide, not realizing the effort needed to try to stave this off?

It looks bleak, honest assessment. All hands on deck, regardless of how small the odds.

If I say there is no way the R party will be competitive in CA again, ever, is that doomsday or simple reality?

No -- what I HAVE noticed is that your outlook is continually and decidedly negative, no matter the situation.

If Trump is lagging in the polls and a few pundits claim an overwhelming Biden victory then it's bad news, and the end of America.

If Trump is ahead in the polls and a few pundits claim an overwhelming Trump victory then it's also bad news because that means everyone is complacent which will result in defeat.

How anyone can incessantly find the most disturbingly negative outlook in every situation is mind-boggling to me. I can't do it. I'd be pounding fistfulls of those deadly opiates if that were my life.

Funny thing about that...when I bugged out into the boonies back in March/April so I wouldn't be trapped in the city I had plenty of time to consider that being prepared (at least somewhat) might be a good idea. I had always blown the notion off in the past as paranoia...things couldn't get that bad, could they?

Uh...yeah they can. All it would take is for the grocery stores to be cleaned out and then not restocked right away. Impossible? Hmmm....

As a result, I fast tracked the truck camper I've been thinking about for at least 3 years but was going to hold off and present it to myself as a present on my 60th birthday. I don't want to be stuck in a city if I can help it, that's for sure. I used to think "preppers" were kinda kooky...but not anymore. Although some may take things a bit too heavy.

Being able to book out within an hours notice is certainly something I can do right now, but living out the back of a pickup truck and sleeping in a tent won't work too well during the winter months.

Even with a Trump win, there's no guarantee that the liberal/progressive/marxist/anachists/pissed off with nothing to lose won't go apeshit...especially with liberal leaders that won't do anything about it. Then again maybe what we've been seeing was just a flash in the pan. The first week of November is sure going to be interesting...hard to believe it's only a few weeks away.

Then I'll make a lead read. Pence needs to pin Harris on 3 things:

1, Immigration- no deportations, free healthcare

2, ending the filibuster to add states and pack the court

3, Executive orders on gun control

She has said all these things but they're uncovered. These debates are our only narrow chance to communicate around mass media. He MUST succeed on these.

Pence is sharp and good. Years in talk radio. But he can't be too nice.

    It's reality, of course.

Four years at a time, Doug...that's all we can hope for. Who knows what the lay of the land will be in '24, '28, '32 or beyond.

I know it's smart to look down the road, but right now we have to focus on careful steps as a war is raging. People have chosen sides...I'm faithful in ours.

If you think Trump will win, you need to prep. They will go ape. If the reverse, there will be no dramatic weeks. Just the somber realization and slow decline. But peacefully.

Add: in past losses to D, I was sad, but not horrifically depressed. This is different. It's the serious, serious realization of what's at stake.

They're telling us what they'll do. Listen to them and be frightened for this country.

Through the first half, decent for Pence.

The above 3 points better come up. But this moderator is asking loaded Qs and I doubt will ask any of the above.

  27. #2616
The moderator's Qs are really bad. Framed to benefit Dems.

  28. #2617
Both did well. Gave their sides things to point to. No needle moving overall, other than that Pence was steady and that was needed.

The Qs didn't help Pence make the points I thought needed to be made.

The last Q, "If Trump refuses a peaceful transfer of power..." My God. Probably the worst propaganda ever to appear during a debate. Very hard to message past a press like this and the structure of thought control they exert.

    Your thoughts @rockgremlin.

Harris dodges questions...completely ignored the new green deal thing, packing the courts. She comes off as a bitch. All she talks about is "victims"...she represents those with issues. She's the perfect spokesperson for why I'm not liberal.

Pence on the other hand, doesn't dodge a damn thing. He does good at holding her feet to the fire, too.

Pence won for straight up honesty, IMO.

I just wish amnesty, new states, and gun control came up. These critical issues are utterly undiscussed.

It really doesn't matter...as everyone knows where they stand on those things. At least. Pence will tell you exactly where he stands, she'll just dodge or bullshit.

The experts agree...she's a bitch. Looked like a bitch, acted like a bitch, talked like a bitch.

I'm just glad it's over and we don't have to put up with her nasty face anymore. Now it's obvious to me why she's been MIA since she got the nod.
