I'll repeat what I said in a previous post - I don't think much is going to change with the presidency because this country has been corporatized. Politicians don't run the country -- multi-billion dollar corporations do. Do you think multi-billion dollar corporations like Amazon, Apple and Walmart are gonna let the presidency affect their bottom lines? I doubt it.
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Trump's rally in August slowed my search, but the prepping for a Trump win was growing in urgency.

Large corps will do better under Dems. Open borders = more consumers, the end of the trade war with China means easy production again, and higher taxes/regs builds a moat around the bigger companies.

Of course you are. You see it as "other" people see it, right? So Biden looking at the camera and pleading wins hearts and minds, eh? He already had 'em.

Trump is all about strength. That's why he won in 2016 and that's why he'll win again.

By and large, it was kind of a draw. Trump and Biden both were exactly what one would expect...although Biden looks ill.

Personally, I don't think any more debates are necessary.

I suspect Biden will refuse more. Saying Trump so violated decorum that it isn't necessary.

Someone on Fox made the comment, "The media unanimously declared Clinton the winner of all the debates in 2016, but Trump always gained a little after each one."

Agreed. I thought he did very well in all of them that year. The "Because you'd be in jail" comment probably was the best moment in 40 years. But that discipline wasn't there tonight.

That would be a HUGE mistake as it will make him appear weak.

This is also the reason I said tonight's debate would take place when many thought Biden would be hiden...

If I'm ever drowning, I hope someone comes along to save me with the same energy Chris Wallace came in with to save Joe Biden tonight.

Polled my group of 12 hard core followers of politics.

    4- Trump held his own
2- not good, fatal, Trump has lost
1- not good but not fatal
1- skirted (my county's Repub chair)
    4- both hurt themselves

Which confirms my take. Trump is behind and needed a win and whiffed big. I'm as low now as when the Access Hollywood tape emerged.

Given Ingraham's montage, Trump did great. All his supporters on Fox made great points and articulated our side well. We are not lacking in well spoken people and absolutely have truth, decency, and common sense on our side. Bongino's take was the most bullish.

Personally--I think I won the debate...

I took my daughter and 2 grandsons out fishing yesterday afternoon/evening.

We only caught 3 but one was a grandsons first, on a new rod he bought, with money he earned working at a hardware store.(he's 12)

So no matter who is President--I plan on furthering a generation of outdoorsman.

Currently helping another grandson get his hunter education certificate.

So I don't know who won the Presidential debate and frankly don't care, life as I know it will live on, I'm making sure of that.

But I did see this interesting tidbit:

Sounds like this may be an accurate picture.

Probably many turned off by the whole spectacle.

The great irony in this is a vote for D means more govt power in our lives, more needing to be bullied by politicians, more needing to listen since our lives depend on it increasingly.

You almost wish we had an electorate smart enough to put it all together and see.

Precisely...because he did win. If winning is what it could be called. It's all about strength, and Trump looked stronger...there is no doubt about that.

Trump is pissed and I certainly don't blame him. I've seen bits and pieces of his rallies lately and he sees Biden as virtually insignificant...a dried up has been. Of all the people that have come after him, Biden is by far the weakest.

Personally, I would find it difficult myself to stand there and be "polite" to the figurehead of the party that wants to burn it all down. I think Trump sees Biden and his crew as being a clear and present danger to America...and they are. I think Trumps tactic was to come out and shred his ass, and he did. Screw the "be a nice guy" bullshit. Fight fire with fire.

"Dog whistle" Biden says...how about his lie about Charlottesville?...there's your dog whistle right there. Biden deserved to get his ass kicked. They went behind the stands, alright.

Hey Doug...put me down in the "win" column. I don't and wasn't expecting an orange James Bond to walk out on to that stage.

You and I have discussed this...and I DO think we have an electorate smart enough to figure it out. The contrast this time around is SUPER SHARP.

Bear in mind that Biden pissed a lot of people off last night in regards to the new green deal and defunding the police...he's trying to appeal to moderates but like Trump said...the leftists own his ass and he'll do exactly what he's told.

Best line of the night..."Antifa is dangerous, and they'll overthrow you". You bet....and they'll do it by setting him down in a nice comfortable chair with a cup of tea.

The Vista Outdoors stockholder in action. I see they bought Remington's ammo biz out of the bk. Good to see that name live on in some form.

So no matter who is President--I plan on furthering a generation of outdoorsman.
In trying to find some positives, and recalling the Access Hollywood low point in 2016, this may be it. How many people last night said, "Holy crap. Our politics is so putrid, the fighting so endless and so guaranteed, maybe we should end govt so we can all live peacefully." In a civil discussion, in thoughtful conversation, there is some level of trust generated that govt can make good decisions. That is certainly not a feeling in people today.

So I don't know who won the Presidential debate and frankly don't care, life as I know it will live on, I'm making sure of that.
Such is the more rural life, and why I want to leave my metro life. A Dem immigration and policing future means urban dwellers can't not care. It'll surround us.

But I did see this interesting tidbit:
We were talking about this number last night and thought it reflected the Latin culture's affinity for machismo, loudness, bluster, and force. Hugo Chavez won on personality. No one survives in S. Am. politics with thoughtfulness and timidity.

Lot of good thoughts in your post. Brain behind the memes. As expected.

Yep. I stopped watching at about the 2/3 mark, disgusted at the blatant mud slinging by both sides.

I was forced to watch the debate from start to finish because I didn't want "the news" telling me what happened for the simple reason they are untrustworthy.
