I have some long time friends in Portland. The wife is now marching in the protests and posted a long account on FB about getting gassed and such.

I went to their wedding. He was essentially my best friend for years when we lived in l.a. They made me a godfather to one of their kids. They keep a sweet home and have an otherwise normal life. We have stayed in each others' houses many times since our l.a. days. Personally nice people, baking pies and thoughtful and kind. Backpacking trips and sports leagues and house parties we did, for years, as young adults.

And they've become that. To the point where I have ripped their radicalism and he recently called me vile. Relationship over.

But yes, they do support that hellish chaos as a righteous necessity. As some of us here would support open violence to protect against the coming assault on the 2A or to oppose the likely land redistribution in a decade or so. We need to understand the depth of the other side's hatred of this country, and the now open hatred of white people. They are not our fellow citizens and patriots. Not even close.

It's life experiences like this, where I've personally seen many old friends, and now several relatives, become flat out traitors to our founding principles, that shape my view of what's to come, and the personal retribution aimed at people like us.

I'm just ringing the alarm bell for anyone who'd listen.

I've got some proud liberal family living in Oregon, my cousin posted this carefully crafted article showing how Portland isn't in chaos at all. I had to laugh at the selected photos.

She said we should read the article and take it from her rather than watch the news.

But this is what it's like, they don't want to think it's chaos, but more of a street festival.

^^ There are so many stories out there about that, I honestly don't know who's telling the truth anymore on Aunt Jemima. There's the one in the above meme and then there's one that says that she went from being a slave to the white man to being a slave to corporate America. I guess it depends on where you stand on the political spectrum. When I die, I'll ask her myself. :)
