Tom Steyer has skyrocketed to 3rd in the polls in early voting states. It appears spending truck loads of personal cash is paying off. The only candidate to out spend Steyer to date is Bloomberg. Less than two months to Super Tuesday and the Democratic presidential picture will begin to clear.

But the rise of Steyer in SC, and getting on the main debate stage, is interesting. Would seem to me, @Iceaxe, to help Biden. Yet another wack left candidate to split that vote. So it's basically a 5 man race: Butti and Biden splitting, and Warren/Sanders/Steyer splitting, if Steyer has legs. Biggest shoe to drop will be who withdraws first between Warren and Sanders, imo. 2nd biggest shoe is when Butti drops out, which I'd guess is the first shoe chronologically.

The DNC will NEVER let Sanders win as he is not a Democrat and has yet he has even failed to register as a Democrat, which is required by their rules to become their candidate. I think they want Sanders in the race as his presence is likely to result in a contested convention, which will allow the DNC super delegates to select the candidate of their choice and disregard the will of the voters. Or I could be wrong...

Warren is sinking like a rock in the polls and I think this is her Hail Mary to save her campaign. She is desperately trying to get left of all other candidates, including Bernie. Warren has the same big problem Hillary faced, and that is she is just not very likable as a human being.

I'm thinking Biden. As if the entire process has been a gnashing of teeth to try to avoid the inevitable of Biden, but it'll be. He polls very well with blacks and has commanding leads in a lot of states not named IA and NH. His race to lose.

Steyer coming in and polling well probably mutes a Warren to Sanders shift as well.

If this was 30 years ago, Trump's behavior would be unacceptable. A tweet like that would have ticked me off to no end. Imagine Reagan doing that! Would have been outrageous and worthy of everyone's contempt.

But now? It's fine. We live in a time where attention is more important than thoughtfulness. It's a sad reality but a reality. The Romney-Bush style of Republicanism is dead and can never win again.
