US to buy Greenland?
Now this is interesting... I've been following this the past couple of days and the experts all seem to agree that it's a possibility, but of course it's an extremely long shot.
This is something I admire about Trump... he thinks big and outside the box, which I guess is one reason he is worth billions and I'm not.
Trump has talked about buying Greenland for US

Maybe he has an eye on all of the mineral resources Greenland has. Greenland is rich in a lot of precious and base metals including gold and platinum.
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Greenland is a weird place. From what I understand the Government owns all the land, but you can build a house on their land for free. Also the total population of Greenland is only 60,000. In addition to being mineral rich Greenland is also strategically placed in the event of war. We already have a military base there. The US has also tried to buy Greenland twice in the past. The last time was in 1948 and we offered them $100 million for the island. Apparently the Dutch government, which owns the island, currently has some financial problems, which is why there might be a slight opening in the door.
Anyhoo... fun to ponder...

Yeah, I looked it up last night. The only way it would happen is if most of the folks there have a very FAVORABLE opinion of the U.S.
What are the chances of that, huh? I heard that Iceland hates us.Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
It all goes slo-mo
I don't know why I am crying

Actually Iceland loves us, or at least they love the American dollar. Our military base is a huge hit over there.
If the US gained control of Iceland I doubt much would change for the average citizen, except their standard of living would improve. The US actually owns/controls lots of territories.

I like Trumps proposal, as it is. So the Chinese want to build a few dinky little islands? Well, we'll take Greenland...the whole damn thing.
We'll show them what Imperialism is, right?Suddenly my feet are feet of mud

I think most of us agree this has about zero chance of happening... but I always tell people you never know unless you ask.... you score zero points for the shots you don't take.
I just admire anyone that is always looking to improve...
