This is insane, it almost looks like the flight pattern is programmed in, because it is so incredibly difficult to control drones that precisely.

The strings are moving all over the place from tension from the other drones, if just 1 prop touches a string, it's over. I'd like to see the out takes where the drone touched a string and then burst into a thousand pieces.
Really cool though. If you weren't such a good pilot, you could at least pull a nylon cord across a gorge and then tie a cable to that and pull it back, then build on that.
Back in the day, people would fly a kite, drop it on the opposite side, then tie a rope to the kite string and pull that across, then keep pulling stronger cords back and forth.
