Thread: Sand hollow map?

    Sand hollow map?

I've seen a bunch of jeep videos from Sand Hollow. I've been all over that area on my dirt bike and have not seen where these videos have been shot. Most on slick rock. Anybody got a map showing where they are? Some pretty wicked stuff.

If memory serves, all the major rock crawling and slick rock is in the vicinity of the push-pins on this screenshot from Google Earth.

No. All the hardcore trails are on the Sand Hollow side. That map is for the mild stuff

The best trails are to the East of the main sand dune up out of the tunnel. It's the opposite of canyoneering as we all always going up all the canyons and obstacle. Sand Hollow has some of the best hard core trails in the entire US. Look up some of trip reports in the off road section if you want to see more of them

All the Jeepers I've seen have almost always been on the rim just above Warner Valley along the red line as indicated in my map. I've seen a few in the dunes area, but the rock is sparse save for a little section in the center. The bulk of the slick rock, IMHO is near the top yellow push pin. I'm trying to remember the name of the signed trail

Edited to add: I know the spot you've taken photos in and yes, that's slightly to the right of the tunnel in the center(ish) of Sand Hallow.

He was asking about hardcover trails not jeeps or atvs. I only go out there about 40 times a year with full buggy. The trail you marked is a road that I take my 4runner on. That is definitely not where the hard trails are. That's called the west rim trail and also leads to the maze trail. Good fun trails but not hard ones by any means. The beginner trails

Oh it's getting coil overs front, coils rear, didn't want to cut up the rear tub for coil overs. Should be done in a couple of weeks.

So, rather than criticizing me, why don't YOU provide a map for the trails, since you obviously know the area better than I. I've yet to see you put up a map or provide specifics. Get it done..

I would take your scrambler on anything down to and including the Maze (which is the most scenic of all the trails if you are only doing one I would make that your first choice). Unless you go with someone who knows the trails or you have a good spotter body damage is likely. When you get ready to come down shoot me a message and I will get you any info you need. Could also get you some numbers and probably joint a group down here or maybe I can even head out. My buggy hasn't left the shop for over a month now that canyon season has started

I ran across this thread while looking for info on Sand Hollow...

I'm planning a trip to Sand Hollow with my son for Spring
Break. We plan to wheel all day Friday & Saturday, April 13th & 14th.

Would love to connect with some locals and hit the trails. I have never been there before, but looking to hit trails in the 5-7 range...like Sliplock, Plan B, John's Trail, The Maze, Double Sammy, etc...

I'm in a JKU, Locked/Locked, 35's, Cage, w/ Winch. I'll be with my 12 year old son. Please let me know if anyone is available to show us around and hit the trails. Thanks!
