Where to go near kanab.
I will be meeting some friends in Kanab Friday march 6th in the evening. I plan on getting into town around noon and have about 4 hours or so to do some exploring.
I was wondering what is a good shortish hike that I could do in that area? I was hoping for something in the GSENM.
I will be coming from AZ through page. My original plan was to go to the Wahweap hoodoos and I was going to access them off of Cottonwood Canyon road. However I am getting conflicting information about FR431 being open or closed. The other way is too long for me and the ranger station there is closed for the winter until Mon. So I can't confirm accessabilty.
So any suggestions, possibly closer to Kanab?

Reckon there will be an update soon, but if impassible road conditions persist, the only hike I could suggest would be the bunting trail right in kanab:

Not a very long hike. Maybe you could combine that hike with a stroll about the paria rimrocks via parking lot access on us 89 around mm 20.

Yep, I have been keeping an eye o the recent weather. Perhaps I have been a little too optimistic in a few days of sunshine drying things up, but yes an update there would be nice. :)
