Moab area rock art (Updated 7/22)

Spent the last week or so in the Moab area doing some ATVing. Went and stopped at some fun rock art panels.

First up is the birthing panel on Kane Creek Rd.

I spotted this on a boulder just a few feet off the road. Not sure if it is anything of significance or not.

We went up the South Fork of Sevenmile Canyon for a few.

We spotted the Snake in Mouth panel high on the cliff with binoculars. I did not take the hike, but my buddy did.

Farther up the canyon, we found the Kokopelli panel. It requires some fun scrambling, and then a few steps on the cliff ledge. It was a little scary!

This little guy was a feet away from the main panel.

    More from Sevenmile Canyon

Next stop was the Centipede, or Fish-man Panel. This was my favorite panel so of all of them. Fairly easy to access, and the picto's were plentiful.

If you turn around to look out the canyon you will see a few on the ceiling.

We thought we spotted more across the way from the Centipede panel, turned out to be nothing, but we had fun climbing.

    Sasquatch??

    Sevenmile Canyon Continued....
We came upon the Lonesome Shaman.

We pulled up to the next spot, and I heard a noise. Looking down, we had parked the ATV's a few feet from a baby rattlesnake. I was able to get the ATV's moved without issue and give this little guy some space.

Regardless of the snake, we were being watched by The Guardian on the South cliff face.

After ATVing Pritchet Canyon, we stopped by a few rock art sites along Kane Creek Road. Some have been vandalized.

    A little hunting scene.

We also visited The Intestine Man/TV Sheep panel.

    Take my picture daddy!!
