Neff's Canyon hike with my son
Last weekend my son and I wanted to go on a hike. Sure enough Millcreek was a mob, so we ended up going up Neff's instead.
The temps were in the low 90s, so we needed something with cover. Neff's canyon is a great family hike that provides shade 90% of the time (depending on which fork you take). We ended up going up to the spring and then taking the right fork towards Mt. Olympus. We made it to the exposed rock where the forest opens up and the trail got pretty bad. The bushes got way too big and we had to cut our way through a couple of spots. It was still completely green up there and very refreshing to hike along the stream. Didn't spot much of wild life.
My son brought his newly acquired knife from a gun show, so of course we had to carve every stick we found.

Neff's is a great place. Much less trafficked, though still not solitude either. It was my back yard growing up.
