Naturalist Basin June 8-9
My son and I backpacked into Naturalist Basin Friday afternoon for an over nighter. I know it has been a mild winter but I was still quite surprised at the lack of snow. We crossed a couple of small patches of snow by Jordan Lake and that was it. There was still a bit of ice on LeConte Lake and Blue Lake but everything else was pretty much ice free. The best part of the trip was we didn't see a single person until we where leaving Saturday afternoon. It was early enough in the year to beat the crowds and the bugs.

Glad to hear the bugs are not out yet. I suspect after the last weekends weather the bugs will be kept down. We are headed to Grandaddy area with the Scouts on Friday. Hoping the fishing is great!
