Panguitch
My parents and some of their friends went four wheeling down in the panguitch area. I saw these pics on their computer, and "ripped" them to a CD, because I knew they would never learn about web forums.
So, all I know, is this is a ride that takes about 4 days. They've done the Piute trail a couple of times, but apparently this one was different.
I'm just going to post a bunch of pics, 'cause they look like it was a lot of fun. As for questions about specifics, I might need some of you four wheeling veterans out there to help me out with the answers.
You may have even been here before.
Thanks.
I believe these first pics are near Bryce Canyon, but still a little ways off.

The first pics are in a place called Red Canyon, on Highway 12 a couple miles before Bryce. I saw Cascade Springs and Strawberry Point, both along the Virgin Rim Bike Trail. They were not on the trail its self as it is closed to ATV's (Thank God). The trail stays on the rim but at points it will intersect jeep roads and ATV trails and the two trails will become one for short sections. For all you mountain biking freaks, there are few trails that match the scenery of the Virgin Rim. It is a must do.

That's really cool!!It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

They are actually going pretty slow on these trails. And, to be honest, I wouldn't want to wear a helmet four days in a row. I'd end up chucking that stinky sweaty heavy thing in the bushes on the second day.
The way we ride? Sure, we should wear helmets. But these are "older" folks, and they are really taking it easy. I'm sure their bodies couldn't take much of a rampage after a couple of days, so they'll be just creeping along.

Thanks James for the info! I didn't have the time to get many details from my parents.

Great Photos! That's my neck of the woods!
Cascade Falls is a fun little hike on Cedar Mountain. It also happens to be the head of the Virgin River. I fell one time in the river near where that photo is shot. Those rocks are JAGGED! Hurt like crazy!
Many of the other photos are from Red Canyon and Cedar Mountain.

If anyone wants to write up bike trails from Red Canyon I will put them on my site.
Cascade Falls might be a fun hike to do this weekend if its snowing ;)

Yup that is Casto. Awesome trail. At the top you can head 7 miles north to LimeKiln canyon. It is lime green all the way back to Panguitch.

Agreed. I did this ride last year. 5 days, 500 miles. Casto Canyon is prominent in many of those photos, followed by the Great Western Trail and Fishlake.

I have never done Casto Canyon, but I pass the sign a lot on the way to Bryce.

We were stuck in Casto during a massive thunderstorm/flash flood late last year. We rescued a Mom and Daughter from Minnesota that were stuck with some moron guide from Ruby's Inn. I'm taking my two brothers camping somewhere between Bryce and Casto in September. Any food/fueling locations appreciated.
