Watched Grown Ups last night.... it had a lot of some funny stuff but not much of a story..... or at least not much of a story that I didn't figure out 5 minutes into the movie.

an old tarentino movie. From Dusk til Dawn. started out normal enough for a tarention flick, but after 20 minutes it took a turn to the left and never came back. crazy, weird. but a great sound track. george clooney, harvey keitel, cheech marin, quentin tarentino, juliette lewis, be ready for some strange shit.
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

Ah, good movie. Avoid the sequel like the plague.

And the last thing I torrented was the audiobook Under the Dome by Steven King.

OK so I finally started watching Dexter again after so many suggestions from friends. Now I'm hooked. I just got through the first season. And now I'm delighted to know there are 5 seasons.

love dexter. the last episode was a dozy of a finish. hurry through the first 4 seasons and get caught up.

they just started season 1 of sons of anarchy here in new zealand. as usual they are 2 years behind the rest of the world. i can't wait for the next episode of season 3. so far season 3 has been good.
But if I agreed with you, we would both be wrong.

    "How to train your Dragon"

Downloaded it for my son, but he didn't like it and I loved it, weird. Watched it 3x already 9.5/10

"Circue De Freak, The vampires assistant" Or something like that....

1st hour is really really good, then it takes a complete nosedive and ends up sucking ass like the Twilight series. 5.5 / 10

    Battlestar Galactica season 3

Wow I cannot get enough of this series it just keeps getting better and better. 9 / 10

    Samurai Jack seasons 1-3

Another awesome cartoon I can't get enough of. Someone finally ripped them off the DVD instead of watching the tv versions. 9.5 / 10

    Survivor season 21

Meh, this season isn't as good without a mastermind like Russel working the team over and doing dastardly things. 6 / 10

    The Princess Bride

Haven't watched it yet to check the quality and sound, but this is one of my all time fav's and I can't wait to watch again, been a couple years since I've seen it.

It gets better and better. I own all of the DVD's and have watched the entire series start to finish at least 3 times. Wasn't too thrilled with Caprica but it was okay.

I just finished AMC's "The Walking Dead" series.... not my usual type of stuff but it was pretty good.... certainly worth watching... but it had the typical scary movie deal.... the people are all dumb as rocks....

Anyhoo..... I'm looking for a new series to watch.... any suggestions?

I have seen all of these series and I have ranked them BEST (top) to WORST (bottom), in my humble opinion. So maybe this list will help someone that has the same tastes as me.... good luck...

    Breaking Bad
    The Wire
    Dexter
    Underbelly
    Weeds
    Earth to the Moon
    The Sopranos
    Spartacus: Blood and Sand
    Boardwalk Empire
    Entourage
    Blue Mountain Sate
    The Tudors
    Band of Brothers
    Generation Kill
    Deadwood
    Rome
    Sons of Anarchy
    Mad Men
    The Pacific
    The Pillars Of The Earth
    Californication
    Friday Night Lights
    The Walking Dead
    Eastbound and Down
    Big Love
    True Blood
    Party Down
    It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

All these are pretty good shows.... I've watched a lot of other series but they were not worth mentioning.... enjoy....

A screener copy of True Grit is out there now.
How can you have your non-dairy pudding substitute if you don't eat your wok-braised tofu?

Off to the library to check out a copy.....

We watched Secretariat last night, it's a good family flick, it's not a real in depth adult movie, but one you can watch with the kids and enjoy. It was kinda special to me because Secretariat was my first introduction into horse racing. I was 12 y/o when Secretariat won the triple crown and I remember it was a really big deal as that big red horse just destroyed the field where ever he raced.

I was in Vegas with my dad when they ran the Belmont and he got the bright idea he would make some major coin by placing a big bet on Secretariat, so we hit up the local sports book and it paid almost nothing for a Secretariat win, if I remember correctly a $2000 bet only paid back $2100 for a win. This is when I first started to understand the mathematics in betting as my dad explained to me that only a fool would risk $2000 at a chance to gain $100. Anyhoo.... fun stuff...

Anyone have a good method of playing AVI directly to the TV?

Right now I just burn my completely legal and not coptrighted material directly to a DVD. But I'd like a way to watch the AVI's directly, maybe on one of the new devices out (google tv, Apple TV) has a USB port for a memory stick?

And yes I know I can stream through my xbox but that's a lot of work. Turn on the computer, turn on the xbox, 5 different controllers... I'm wanting simple.
