Well dudes, I'm outta here for the next 6 or 8 months, so my canyon season is pretty much complete until the late fall. I leave you with my last contribution for awhile... Enjoy.

i know the feeling, well sorta
on our honeymoon, my wife and i were leaving the train in naples and walked to the local train stop. i turned to my wife and said hand me my camera (wanting to get a shot of this dirty bum) and she states real puzzled-like "stop screwing around, i dont have your stinkin' camera"
"oh shit, i scream in a panic, and i bolt to the train we just exited.
as i arrived it was slowly pulling away.....
that was the last fancy camera i purchased, at the risk of dating myself, it was a EOS-1N

Dan, oh man, that camera went through hell and back, through deep water and high altitude. I will miss it and your ugly face behind it. You take care there buddy, time will heal everything, I am sure there is another one out there for you somewhere.

Great video, nice spin on a tragedy. Hope the crew isn't too bummed about the recovery instead of rescue. I hate it when things take a turn for the worst and you can't get time back. Check into your homeowners ins. Some policies cover stuff like this.

I'm assuming this was the same day I was on Lake Powell for these insane winds. We had three foot + waves in the main channel, it was nuts! I was out for 12 days and this happened to be my only day off... good thing I did because I don't know what our boat man would have done without me helping him keep the boat from banging into rocks/cliffs while we waited for our crew to come out of the days canyon. It was pretty intense getting everyone out of the lake, we were throwing ropes to pull them in while trying to keep the boat from getting smashed on the rocks. It was by far the most intense "rest" day I've ever had. Sorry about the camera Dan but the vid is very entertaining... How many pairs of shoes does Dave have anyway, and how many times does he change them in the vid?

I finally got around to watching the Video. Bummer man. One thought on the sending "money in lieu of flowers." I am happy to accept all the donations since no group will need to remove President Bush. It will be done by constitutional mandate. I hope Alaska treats you well and maybe next year for Kolob.
