If there isn't a V, Ice, we need to name the next cool canyon "Vertical Horizon"
It's my job to call the BS around here. Get over it.

OK, I've done 17 of the 26 canyons on the list.

    How many have you done?

I thought Zero-G would for sure get the nod at Z..... and I just knew Scott would post some obscure never before heard of canyon somewhere to the list... Jumpup Canyon?

I don't feel so bad then. ;) I've only done four of them. Last weekend, a new friend asked me if I was new to canyoneering. I replied that I had done "about ten canyons now." On my way home, I started adding them up. I was pleasantly surprised to find that I had now done 24. That probably pales in comparison to most of you, but I was pretty stoked!

Geez, I suck! I only have 7 from that list. I thought I would have more considering I average around 10 canyons a year.

Actually Shane, this one is neither obscure or never heard of. It's just that it's in Arizona (which is why I assume that you didn't recognize the name). Anyway, Jumpup is a well known and fairly popular canyon; perhaps the first or second most common route to access Kanab Creek in the Grand Canyon.

By the way guys, there is indeed already a V Canyon on the Colorado Plateau. Vermillion Creek and Canyon in the Dinosaur area. Supposed to be a neat slot canyon loaded with petroglyphs. I'll be going there next weekend and will hopefully have some photos. I have also invited anyone who is interested to come. Vermillion Creek is the one spoken of in the second paragraph in my post below:

    See also this site:

It's well known enough that it is even mentioned on our county website:

Utah is a very special and unique place. There is no where else like it on earth. Please take care of it and keep the remaining wild areas in pristine condition. The world will be a better place if you do.

You could also add in the (admittedly confined to the Ram-o-sphere) "X-comm" instead of canyon "X".

I'd agree with Scott about Jump-Up-seems reasonably well known (hey, it's one of my ticks and I'm from a fair distance away). Nice to see a local on the list (Unicorn).

    Not being competitive... but...

18 if doing 2 of the 4 Egypts counts... I guess 17.5 otherwise.

Can you say O.C.D.? I should seek counseling....

Neon is probably the most prominent one I am missing. Hoping to get there this season.... I hiked into the cathedral when I did choprock, but didn't have time to do the whole canyon. Bummer, but a good excuse to go back. That area is AMAZING.

It's my game so I get to make up the rules

I counted the Egypts as one. I figure 26 letters so 26 canyons. How about we say any of the Eygpts count for E. If you have done more then one Eygpt it's still only one.
