Where are you getting your intel on Sitake's salary? Since BYU is a private organization the salary numbers aren't announced. I do believe (based upon very good info) that his salary is also supplemented by private donors, again a number that is not public.

So did you use yours as a charitable writeoff last year?

The Oregon Ducks are now looking for a new coach and Sitake's name is on the list. The Ducks would be a difficult job to turn down if offered as it's probably one of the top 10 programs in the country and doesn't need to go through a rebuilding process.

BYU had a very good season, destroyed the PAC 12 and gets rewarded with the turd bowl.

My belief is that Kalani wants to stay at BYU and that BYU will compensate him. Now, BYU won't ever match what Oregon has to offer, but I just don't see Kalani moving on quite yet. I think he really likes being at BYU, feels like there is work still to do and from all I have heard Kalani is not as money/reputation driven as other coaches. Again, I do believe with BYU money and private donors, Kalani and his staff will be compensated to their satisfaction. There has been enough chatter about coaches compensation that I believe BYU got the message. Just my 2 cents (with a little inside info :))

The ducks just offered Cristobal $85 million to stay...
$8.5 million a year for 10 years....
That kinda makes Sitake's $1.5 million a year (a little inside info) look like chump change. BYU is going to have to up their game sooner or later.
Cristobal is undecided on Oregon or Miami.

Cristobal is gone to Miami.... but the big news to BYU fans is that Sitake is in talks with the Ducks about becoming their next head coach.
BYU and it's donor's had better get their checkbooks out. I don't think BYU has to pay Duck type money to keep Sitake, but they will probably at least need to double what he makes now.

Good news for Breed M' Young....
BYU coach Kalani Sitake interviewed with Oregon on Wednesday. I didn’t get the impression the Ducks were wild about this one. The whisper is that either Sitake didn’t interview well or expressed some hesitation about leaving BYU. I would be surprised if he’s the pick for this reason but we’ve seen stranger 180-degree twists. (A note... the Oregon legislature passed a law in 2009 that requires the state’s public universities to interview a qualified minority candidate before making a hire. Sitake, who is Tongan, fulfills this requirement.)

Great for BYU and great for Sitake. I assume "unprecedented" is code for a whole lot more money than he was making.
