So I just got back from a two week road trip and I've come to the conclusion that anyone wearing a mask is mentally ill. It's like they went swimming in fear and fell in love with it.
Granted, I was in northern Colorado and southern Wyoming...but life sure feels normal out there, that's for sure. The end of the world for some...

Hey man, that sounds like a plan. Let's make it happen, huh? Got lots of free time on my hands these days. I gotta check and see if the Rendezvous is happening this year...didn't get any emails from them. I'll check it out. The last one in '19 was pretty low turnout...maybe about 30 people and 5 of them were with me.
So after mulling over this during my recent 2 week trip, I came home and sent Jost an email. It was reasonable and a little scathing. I told him it was absolute nonsense to have this policy...as I can walk into any business I choose without a mask or proof of "the shot" and deal with whoever face to face. I called it exclusionary and that will always come with a price. I also told him that if he and Rick don't change this "policy" before the event then it's likely he'll never see my face again...I don't hang out with people that hold up "keep out" signs. No hard feelings but this could be a dealbreaker.
So the ball is in his court. I also told him that if they are going to "require" the shot, then don't even bother responding to my email.
Kinda heavy, huh? One more thing...I said "If you don't require proof of vaccination to attend that makes this extra bullshit".
We'll see what happens. The end of the world for some...

^^^Byron you made the right choice. You gotta shut toxic people out of your life, history be damned.
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Ah...I don't know if I'd say "toxic"...but some of these people are seriously into it. Like a religion...they preach to you if you're not on board. They really truly believe in all of it. Sitting right down to get that shot.
I can sum up my "opinion" of all this...I watched it all from the beginning and it stinks fishy all to hell. I don't trust any of them...none of these politicians, none of these pundits. If I ever get that shot it'll be in due time...I'll decide when and if that happens. They can all be guinea pigs for this bullshit...if that vaccine even does anything at all.
In the meantime I never thought I'd lose friends over it. I don't own any "keep out" signs.
Stupid liberals...friggin' sheep is what they are. Self righteous, too. Funny thing...I can accept their mentality as I'm used to it...but they sure as hell can't accept mine. So who's the asshole? The end of the world for some...

So I talked to Josh last night about this and it appears the event (as it's normally held) might not happen at all...as less than 10 people have signed up. Normally there can be anywhere from 50-80 people, with about 25 being regular year after year attendees. There needs to be at least 30 people to make it function...as it costs money for the cooks we hire and the porta-potties, amongst other expenses.
Josh figures it to be people freaked out about Covid, but I reckon it's because the event is usually mid May but they tried to make it in mid September this year and it just doesn't jive. People come from all over the country for this...a week long mini Burning Man kind of thing. So it'll likely be a smaller, less "formal" gathering similar to what Josh and I did in May...we'll pick a campsite and people will just come and go over a couple weeks...biking and canyoneering.
Because the event will almost certainly be scrubbed I didn't have to bust his chops over the "policy"...but we did talk about it a bit. He was on pure defense and agreed with the logic of my argument...in other words he couldn't come up with a way to undermine my point on this even though he had a few days to think about it. He did say that the "squeaky wheels get the grease" so all it takes is a few people to have concerns about it and there's the "policy", as it is. He also admitted that he and Rick didn't think it thru very well or consider those that would be left out.
Leave it up to Byron to walk into the room and rearrange all the furniture, eh? Josh was humble with this...he knew it was wrong. I'll tell you what...anyone that tries to tell me what to do or think is going to get bitchslapped. Kinda like what Cher did to Nicholas Cage in the movie Moonstruck..."Snap out of it!".The end of the world for some...

EVERYTHING IS RACIST!!!!!
The University of Wisconsin has removed a 70-ton boulder from its Madison campus on Friday at the request of minority students who view the rock as a symbol of racism.Chamberlin Rock, on the top of Observatory Hill, is named after Thomas Crowder Chamberlin, a geologist and former university president.Students of colour on campus say the rock represents a history of discrimination. The boulder was referred to as a derogatory name for black people in a Wisconsin State Journal story in 1925.
