No...but I read the Wiki on it. I'm not going to watch anything on Netflix, ever. Friggin' child porno freaks.

Just more liberal bullshit. All the "white supremacist" and "flat earth" nonsense pretty much does it in. Pretty typical...making huge issues out of nothing. That's probably the biggest issue I've had with liberalism since I was young...they come in with a sledgehammer when a finishing nailer will do.

Where are all the white supremacists? Can you tell me where they are, Doug? 'Cause I don't see 'em. "Flat Earthers"?...yeah, that's a real problem.

Somehow I didn't get any of that out of the film. It's about how social media is destroying the country/world. Making the extremes of the spectrum even more extreme. One step off mind control. And surprise!.. it's all driven by money. I found it rather eye opening how easily the algorythms feed your feeds with more and more of your leanings. Fake news for everyone as long as it drives clicks.

Over the past couple of years my son and I have grown further apart. He seems more liberal left every time I see him... and he thinks I'm becoming a right wing nut. After watching this is seems we are both being fed a news stream that feeds our natural bent - manipulated actually. I think the shit he comes up is made up, he thinks the same of my news... both correct it seems. I finished the show feeling angry, lied to by who? some company, some government, some politically motivated organization, pretty much whomever has the cash to flood our feeds with their bullshit.

Nothings changed, Doug. It's been this way for decades.

I'm 57 and when I was around 14 I remember people talking about marketing and advertising and "subliminal" advertising. Everything is for sale. Pepsi vs. Coke. The "Illuminati"...the big movers and shakers that control the world. I can point you to some songs written in the late 60s and early 70s lamenting mind control. Orwell saw it coming...heck, he saw it happening.

It's the world in which we live. People do the best that can to make themselves attractive so they can sell themselves to someone else. Those that sell products, lifestyles and ideology realize this...imagine having a stalker living in your house...well nowadays they're living in your pocket.

Remember the controversy around the Ozzy song "Suicide Solution"? Two guys killed themselves and there was a lawsuit against Ozzy over the song...he said "Why would I want my fans to kill themselves? I want them to buy my records".

He didn't give a shit about how the song may have affected those kids...or any kids, for that matter. He just wants to sell the product. They all do and they don't care about he human debris.

I don't think the powers that be want societal collapse, it's just that their lust for power and influence is careening around the tracks. So much so that they're stoking hate, rage and envy to make the sale. Come November we'll see just how deep their influence goes...from now until then I'm just going to relax because I think it's going to be a big fail.

... Except Double Moo ain't Doug.
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Oh for Christ's sake...sorry about that, gentlemen. I reckon I should be paying better attention as to who it is that's posting.

Doug must be thinking "Jesus, Byron...gimme a break"!

It's ok. I feel like Michael Moore 2016 amongst Dems.

That's a tough road to hoe...I feel for ya. Maybe as he gets older he'll come around. You can only hope, huh?

What you're going thru with your child is to me, the worst nightmare. I never had kids for two reasons...one, I never "grew up" and never wanted to. I've always considered that having children was the most "adult" thing you could possibly do...therefore to be avoided. The responsibility is scary epic.

Seems like it can be easy if everything flows...but that's the chance you take...is the kid going to love me or hate me? It's a roll of the dice, big time. Especially when the love you would hope they have for you is taken away by someone whispering in their ear.

Just always keep telling him you love him no matter what...someday it might click...the true importance of that.

In any case... check out the documentary. They've created a monster they don't know how to get under control. Very interesting to see the folks who built the beast telling us to unplug..

I don't do Netflix...but I read the Wiki on it (which could have been written by anyone, of course) and was turned off by it's description. However, I went to Youtube and looked at the trailer, which pretty much summarizes what it's all about. I get it...it's powerful, deceptive and scary. Especially to the weak minded. The comments section of that video are pretty good. Some people freak out and start deleting everything...others take it in stride.

Reminds me of an old saying...A lie travels around the world faster than it takes truth to put its shoes on in the morning.

Ah, the old days...when all you did was ride a bike or a skateboard around and your biggest worry was wether or not to call collect because you didn't have a quarter in your pocket.
