Sounds like Portland is already there, hence my comment.

Portland's mayor supports the BLM/antifa activity -- heck at one point he went down and rubbed shoulders with them in the streets.

Don't worry... they will not be there for long.

The good people will either leave, become bad people.... or rise up and fight, which in the end is the last thing a good person wants to do as it will change them forever and they understand that....

I would argue not anymore. I've spent a good deal of time with close friends in Portland and have seen it disintegrating. The type of people there are astoundingly bad.

It becomes an issue of what makes you label people good or bad. Law breaking and mistreatment of others is the obvious.

But we need to add this: if you believe govt policy should be an instrument of force against everyone in society with whom you disagree, you are bad. That is an exceedingly common Portland trait.

Another trait of a Portlander is an overwhelming sense of superiority over everyone - like they have a monopoly on morality.

My sister went to Pacific U. after she graduated high school over 25 years ago. She was treated with such disdain and insolence that she returned after one semester and finished her degree at Westminster here in SLC. So, snobbery and pomposity were prevalent traits in Portlanders 25 years ago and it doesn't seem like things have changed for the better since then. If anything it's gotten worse.

Maybe, maybe not. I mentioned New York in the 70s as an example of the inmates running the asylum, and it seemed to calm down and get somewhat "gentrified"? I remember hearing about Harlem and the Bronx being cleaned up pretty nice...compared to what it was.

Maybe these lowlifes and the moronic politicians that coddle to them will be a flash in the pan?...maybe it's gone for good. Who can say? I'm just glad I don't live there and quite frankly if my neighborhood got anywhere near that sketchy I'd bail without thinking twice.

I figured that out when I was a teenager. I lived among hippies and noticed the self righteous and especially judgement attitude. Not all of them, of course...some were really chill, but the ones that liked to spew really got on that soapbox.

I remember when the James Bond movie "Live and let Die" came out...I didn't understand what that meant...it sounded so harsh and nasty. I soon learned it was borrowed from "Live and let live" and that had so much more appeal. I remember it kinda planting a philosophical nugget in my brain...like, "Mind your own f*cking business".

Apparently, Minneapolis has had a change of heart and decided to REFUND the police in full after last year's idiotic decision to DEFUND.

I guess now that Trump is out of the White House, the idiot liberals can allow society to resume its normal course...
