Thread: Do you wear a mask?

I guess they have enough liberal power in Jackson, and with it being a central hub of international tourist travel to the NPS nearby, to pull that off. Only place I got out at in Jackson was at Maverick where all but a couple of people were muzzled. I had to shake my head as i was heading north of Jackson Hole toward Tetons to see people riding bikes on the bike trail beside the road wearing masks.

Hiking through Teton trails was interesting, to say the least. When crossing paths with many people, they would jump 5 feet of the trail, and if they weren't already muzzled, they would hurry and grab theirs and pull up over their face as we would walk by.

I have seen an article or 2 about the social impacts to personal interactions with people in public to mask wearing, and how it will likely cause people to be less sociable and have less interaction with others they don't know. I easily witnessed this myself as I cross all kinds of people on the trail around Jenny Lake. In crossing people this weekend, I noticed a very distinct difference in the reactions of muzzled vs non-muzzled people. When out hiking, as I cross others on the trail, I am used to making eye contact, smiling, nodding the head, and giving a warm greeting (Hello, how's it going, good day). I'll bet 80 % of non-muzzled people this weekend followed this standard norm. But the muzzled people, on the other hand were largely (> 90%) very much different. Most wouldn't nod, say hello, make any acknowledgement. About the only noticable change I could see in muzzled people as I would pass them would be the considered actual oppposite of normal welcoming people out in public - many actually would either turn their eyes and head away from me as I passed, or if they had their muzzle hanging down around their chin, would go into a total panic and hurry to grab it and pull it over their mouth and nose as I would pass. It's like they viewed me, unmuzzled, as the great unwashed, filthy, unlean. I felt like i was a leper. I think I would have received more warm welcomes if I were wearing a big stitched scarlet letter 'A' on my chest. It was really bizarre, weird, and uncomforable. After passing a group of muzzled folks and felt like being publicly shunned, it was a nice breathtaking reprieve to then pass a group of smiling, happy unmuzzled people who were happy to acknowledge my presence and give a warm welcome trail greeting with a big smile.

^^^I saw much of the same while visiting the geysers at Yellowstone but the mask/unmask ratio was closer to 50%, and aside from one notable exception the masked crowd didn't seem overly hostile or hateful.

I didn't notice any hostile, or hateful reactions. Just either no reaction, turning eyes and face away from me, or panic to pull their mask up over their face.

After the assassination attempt of Hitler in 1944 (Wolfs Lair), he ordered all members of the military to perform the Nazi salute and did away with the standard one. I read about this in the book "Shadow Divers"...as some of the guys on that submarine were loathe to perform it...even the commander.

I had this in my signature a while back. The issue in this case is that the 0.1 micron virus particle is transported via water droplets -- which are much larger than 0.1 micron.

Why are people getting flu shots this year, especially if they are wearing masks? Or do masks only work on CCP Virus?🤷*♂️

    Wear your mask!
    I swear, it's magical!

“Let's go out to eat, 2020 style...

    1. Arrive at restaurant, fish three month old single-use surgical mask out of car's filthy cupholder (still slightly sticky from this morning's 84oz diet Pepsi).

    2. Strap up with three month old single-use surgical mask.

    *MAGICAL ANTI-GERM BARRIER ENGAGE!!!*

    3. Proceed into restaurant, opening door with same handle grabbed by 200 people so far today.

    4. Hostess has immediate seating for your woke party of three. Walk past entire restaurant of unmasked people. It's ok, they're sitting.

    5. Sit down.

    *SEATED ANTI-GERM FORCEFIELD ENGAGE!!!*

    6. Safely within your anti-germ forcefield, remove mask. Browse menu while making relaxed inhales of the same recirculated AC air previously inside the lungs of the 200 people that also grabbed the door handle.

    7. Waitress drops off drinks bare handed.

    8. Grab drink with your bare hand. Sip leisurely, secure in knowing you're within your anti-germ forcefield of seatedness.

    9. Too many drinks. Need to pee. Don the magical anti-germ barrier mask as you leave your anti-germ forcefield of seatedness.

    10. Walk past 40 unmasked restaurant patrons. Open bathroom with same door knob grabbed by 100 other people so far today.

    11. Return to table past same 40 unmasked restaurant patrons.

    12. Remove mask. Once again safe in your anti-germ forcefield of seatedness. Waitress takes your sweaty drink glass with her bare hand, refills, hands back to you. You accept with your bare hand. Grab some bread and eat it. Same hand. Yum Yum.

    13. Meal complete. Mask on. Walk past 40 unmasked patrons. Make full body contact with at least 4 people waiting at the hostess stand as you squeeze your way back to the door - no matter, they're all also wearing their magical anti-germ barriers.

    14. Grab exit handle, which you are now the 220th person of the day to touch. Eating out successful.

    15. Breathe a sigh of relief knowing that even after leaving the protection of your home and venturing out into the scary world of the public, you are essentially sterile thanks to your state approved methods of magical germ mitigation.”

^^^^ Fake news. Never happened. Math doesn't add up. How can 200 people touch the door handle on the way into said restaurant, but then there have been 220 on the same door handle on the way out? Was there 20 people left over in the restaurant from the day before? Was there a mass birthing event where 20 womxn gave birth in the restaurant, thus accounting for 20 extra people leaving than what came in? I don't think so.

    /end sarcasm.

Not to mention, the alleged event claims that 40 people were passed on the way to the restroom. 40 people? What restaurant has 40 people seated in the span of approximately 50 - 100 feet? Where are they eating, the food court at Costco? Either the restaurant has exceeded capacity or they're eating at a warehouse.

    Gotta be fake.
