We've had the mask thing here in Denver for the last month, solid.

I can tell you that half of the people either in a large grocery store or Home Depot, etc...either aren't wearing one or have it pulled down below their nose. Saw one guy today that just said "f*ck it" and just had a bandana around his neck.

I would bet that most of these people don't have "virtue signaling" in their heads at all. They just don't dig it and they're uncomfortable.

Now, those of us that do it in defiance...well, that's a whole 'nuther matter.

Yeah, that's the first thing that hit my mind when I heard it..."How's this going to go down in St. George?"

Not, I would say. Heard it on an ABC News update...which is pretty lightweight compared to NPR, let me tell ya.

Well they changed their Mascot and removed a statue from campus back in 2013 I think it was. I can't exactly remember why at the time the decided to keep the school name Dixie but they had a reason.

Try explaining where DSU is to someone who isn't from Utah. The look on their face is 50% confusion and 50% WTF.

There is nothing about Southern Utah or "Little Dixie" that resembles the South except they once tried to grow cotton in southern Utah.

And as a representative of that group I can tell ya that most of us will go along with the program if it suits us...but otherwise reserve the right to tell anyone, anywhere at anytime to F*ck Off.

Unpopular question: What is a more invasive law: wearing seat belts, or wearing masks?

If you buy the theory that me wearing a mask heels protect other people more than myself, wouldn’t enforcing wearing seat belts be more invasive? If I don’t wear my seat belt, very little chance I directly hurt, or put at risk, someone else’s life or safety.

Apple's and oranges.... driving a car is a privilege granted to you by the government. Breathing clean unfiltered air is a right granted to you by God.

If you live IN SLC that air isn't so clean.

But from a libertarian point of view, who is the victim in either scenario?

As a society, I think we have to have some rules so we can move around each other effectively.

Problem is...some of us can move around just fine by ourselves .

So I just instantly joined the "I'm not wearing a mask" crowd... feel free to give me a ticket and I'll see you in court...

Governor approves Salt Lake, Summit counties' requests to mandate masks in public

    I think you're absolutely right.

I've got $10 that says they'll look to change the term "Dixie" to something else. The term "Utah's Dixie" is on thin ice.
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

I got another $10 that says people probably won't wear masks regardless of this new mandate. And even if they do it's not going to affect the new cases of Coronavirus in SLC by any appreciable degree. I think this thing just has to be ridden out. Masks aren't going to save us.

Speaking of $10 and DIxie, here is a little trivia for y'all! I have also heard that the reason southern Utah became known as Dixie, is because of the cotton they were trying to develop.

Never regret anything that made you smile!

There are 2 theories behind where the term came from. The one above and from the Mason-Dixon line.
