Do you think they also use two condoms? I certainly hope so because I'd hate to see such stupid reproduce.

First of all, how would you propose that “we” have held the media and politicians accountable? I agree with you, don’t get me wrong. But we didn’t make our voices heard.
There was one way- take yourself off all social media platforms and refuse to participate in any discourse. But guess what- people refuse to do it. I took myself off Twitter and FB, once I started seeing the control and manipulation. I don’t miss it. But I hear everyone cry about the same thing when I tell them to do the same- “but I have people on there I talk to”, “that’s my only way of showing my family what’s going on”. Oh well. So much for that.
Next would be to vote and get the people out of office who support big tech tyranny and support laws that protect them and erode free speech. Oh wait- there’s republicans that do that too? And most voters just care about the R and the D next to the name and could care less about what they support and stand for? And now Dominion can flip your vote and put whoever they want in power to keep pushing their agenda? There goes plan B.
The bottom line, as a society we have been taught to be passive, to sit there and “take it”, and realize we can’t fight city hall. We should have stood up to all this crap years and years ago, but didn’t. This mask crap is another thing we aren’t standing up to. “Just wear it, it saves lives” we are told. BS. Everyone I know who is a religious mask wearer has got COVID. EVERYONE. Yet I haven’t worn one since this whole thing started and I have not been sick once. Neither has my wife, who hasn’t worn one. We get outside, exercise, and live life, and we haven’t been sick. The scared little maskers hiding in their homes and ordering food online have all been affected. The mask is another lie. Want to take a stand? Take off the mask, go out and live your life, and if you aren’t feeling well, stay home or go to the doctor like you did back in the day! If more people sent the message by removing this nonsense contaminated contraption on their faces, then maybe we’d send a message to those in charge that we are not easily swayed and we are free.
Or, just keep masking up, double masking, social distancing and ordering online and be a scared little bitch for the rest of your life. I choose to tell them to take their masks and shove em up their ass. No one follows proper PPE protocol anyway, so it’s pointless. Pretty soon they’ll insist we all adopt the hijab. Guess people will just go out and comply with that, too.

The frustrating thing is that you and I choose to inform ourselves as to issues and candidates. The problem as I see it is that generally people are lazy. They won't read about issues, they won't read even the voter information mailed. They won't even go to a website and critically review positions of candidates. Instead, people have begun to rely on tweets, memes, and 140 characters or less. And worst of all, people are so lazy that they rely on one single, solitary letter...... "R" or "D".

Politicians have insulated themselves from hard questions so no one even tries to ask hard questions. That used to be the media's job. They are failing in their ethical duty. So what to do? I say get on social media, invite discourse, share information, debate issues without making it personal and seek truth. At the end of the day, vote even though there is some ill-informed knucklehead out there with the potential to cancel your vote.

Apathy is the enemy of freedom. GET INVOLVED which requires sacrifice. Run for office so that your voice is heard. In today's political climate, the only way for truth to be told is for good people to run for office so that the arguments are made and truth spoken. If you are in the system, even if it is just long enough to participate in a debate, your voice is heard and perhaps, a seed of truth can be planted in someone listening who will think twice about an issue. I control my destiny. If I get involved and do my civic duty, and lose, I can at least say I did my duty.

Same here. I only wear a mask when I have to go to the grocery store (or anywhere else that has deemed it mandatory to enter).

One thing I've noticed about ALL PEOPLE who mask up -- they rarely wear it correctly. It's obvious that most people aren't taking masks seriously. I wonder how long till they deem it safe to go without? 2022? 2023? Never?

Outstanding rant, Rich! Byron approved !!!

BTW...Florida? Just pack your bags and boogie out of there. Just do it. You only live once, man. I did it back in '93...left a good paying job in Southern California with future possibilities and came to Denver to start from scratch. Worked out great.

In regards to the mask thing, about 2 weeks ago I hit the wall. I haven't worn a "mask" since this circus began...it's always been a bandana. Anyway, for the last two weeks I've been going into the grocery store, Home Depot and everyplace else sans facial covering...and although I shove the bandana in my pocket just in case, not one single person has said a word to me. I don't look like the kind of guy that'll smash your face, but I think to some I appear to have a bit of "smart ass" vibe. I just move purposefully...like I own the place. So far, so good! Maybe it'll catch on? Byron Lemay...trendsetter!

About the politics of this thing...I can't remember how old I was when I first heard the term "You can't fight City Hall". Probably was too young to really understand it...but we all certainly understand it now. Yes, the complacency is a problem, but you have to remember that one man's trash is another man's treasure...and that will NEVER change. For each of us that would like to be done with this nonsense there's another that thinks we haven't gone far enough.

IMO, those that think that way are being taken advantage of...but how can you convince them of that? You can't...you can lead a horse to water, y'know? Or, more precisely...if you go thru life expecting other people to do what YOU would do, you're going to be sorely disappointed.

It's the way of the world, man. It does no good to curse the wind...so I just play by my own rules.

Byron, I bailed out of So Cal 25 years ago. I can say that DeSantis has done right by Florida, but the time will come when I am going to retire to the large parcel of property in some gun-friendly state where no one will come within 12 miles of my house without running through a gauntlet first. Lol

As much as we all love wearing the mask constantly, if ever the dreaded day comes when walking around diaper faced is no longer socially acceptable, at least we can pick up on this lovely health conscious fashion.

As more states remove the diaper face mandates, what’s the responsible socially proper way to do this? Is there some sort of pull up trainers we wear for a while in case of an accident, or do we just go straight from diaper face to full on commando?

Unfortunately, Utah has another month of this mask nonsense. The mandate expires on April 10.

Of course, this is all assuming that Trump isn't re-inaugurated on March 20th, in which case he will remove all mask mandates everywhere.
