I thought you all might like this article ARUP posted about accuracy of testing. I know Lab Corp is coming out with home collection kits... i can tell you all of us lab peeps don't particularly think this is a good idea. We have a hard time with nurses and docs collecting good samples let alone letting general public do it from the nares.

By the way it is National Laboratory Professionals week. Most people don't know we exist or that we hold a 4 year degree and do clinicals before we can get our certification or license depending on the state we work in or that there is a shortage of technologists. You will hear a lot about point of care testing... trust me you don't want you nurse or doctor performing these types of tests without being backed up by a lab scientist that makes sure the testing is done correctly and system is good. Garbage in is garbage out. There is a lot more that goes into these tests then just pushing buttons.

According to the CDC, 14 billion*lab tests*are ordered annually, and*70% of medical*decisions*depend on*laboratory results. That means that*laboratory*professionals play a vital role in healthcare and patient advocacy. Without us your doctor is just guessing.

Yeah, i thought I'd mix it up. CCP - Much easier to type on my phone, than Chinese Wuhan Virus.

I've had several conversations with lefties about why i don't use the latest common terms for it, with them telling me that it's racist, policitally incorrect, and incites violance to refer to the virus using the Country/province of it's origin, which i don't understand. And I refuse to cowtow to the lefties demands to change the words i use today based on the latest trend of made up offenses that they have termed to be policically incorrect, even though everyone including the media was using that exact term yesterday.

So, I figure referring to it as CCP virus is still correctly references the virus by it's origin, without making leftists getting their panties in a bunch because somehow using the word 'Chinese' is demeaningn and racist.

One word... Trump.

You don't hear anyone saying that Rocky Mountain Fever or West Nile Virus or any of the other diseases that are named for their place of origin are racist because of the name. It was never a problem until Donald Trump called it the Wuhan Virus. Even the press, who now call it racist, called it that in the beginning. I don't even think that Trump made the name up. He most likely picked it up from someone else, and ran with it because it's common to name diseases that way. It's just a big, political joke. Sad, really.

Trump became the physical embodiment of everything they hate and fear, real or imagined. He represents every sloppy pass, every sleazy come-on line, every despised boss who hired someone prettier. He's the red dot right smack in the middle of the target for all these women that are pissed off and miserable, the white man at the top of the pyramid. The living symbol of everything they despise...everything they wish they could conquer, but never succeed in doing. He brushed aside Obama and Hillary like they were nothing. The media certainly had a part in creating that image of him, but at the same time a lot of people created that image all on their own. Plenty of people who look in the mirror and want to blame someone for what they see.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...if Jesus Christ came back to earth they'd want to crucify his ass all over again.

Democrats Plan To Censure Michigan State Rep. Karen Whitsett Who Credited Trump With Saving Her Life

Democrats in Detroit plan to censure Democratic Michigan State Rep. Karen Whitsett, who credited President Donald Trump with saving her life after she experienced a severe case of the coronavirus.
Whitsett used hydroxychloroquine to treat her illness. The drug normally used to treat malaria patients has been touted by President Donald Trump as an effective treatment for the coronavirus. “It has a lot to do with the president … bringing it up,” Whitsett said earlier this month. “He is the only person who has the power to make it a priority.”
Now, the 13th Congressional District Democratic Party Organization is seeking to censure the lawmaker.
“At the end of the day, we have political systems,” said Jonathan Kinloch, chairman of the organization, according to The Detroit News. “We have political parties, and political parties exist for a reason.”
