    [QUOTE=oldno7;621326]On a more serious note--

I like your posts, but why do you have to labour us with such a long-winded "signature" below each one?

I think you should be saving bandwidth in these troublesome times and temporarily remove your signature, for the time being, and for the health & benefit of the population at large, so that those with less to say can have access to the bandwidth that you so selfishly use with the same saying over and over and over again, all the time.

THANK YOU, I'm likely more redneck than anyone here and your statement, I believe was aimed at me and it was a direct hit

So thanks again for something I take as a compliment.

Oooh this little nugget was just posted by some fellow lab colleagues on FB. Things we get excited over.
    https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=...&v=dRUtUbmPc94

This test cartridge won't be available until end of March. But for any hospital that currently has a Gene Expert they would be able to start using them once the test was validated. The patients results would be back in the doctor's hands within an hour of collecting the sample. There are a lot of hospitals around the country with this platform. Depending on the unit you can run more than 1 or 2 tests at a time. I believe ours can test 80 at a time with 80 in cue to be tested. I don't make decisions for bringing on tests and can't say if we would but I sure hope we would.

FDA giving Emergency Use Authorization was/is very crucial to help flatten the curve.

Utah's number is 112 this morning that is huge jump over night. (Oops 136 cases)

Just a side note I was in Atlanta in 2011 for a conference when they rolled out the Gene Expert platform. American Chopper designed a motorcycle for Cepheid.

    https://pauljrdesigns.com/bike-galleries/cepheid-bike/

We currently do our MRSA, C. difficile, and Gonorrhea/Chlamydia testing with a Gene Expert. Anyway I like this platform...I really liked the bike.

I think what we all want to see is recoveries. I haven’t looked too hard, but have not seen this data yet. The first people with positive tests in Utah are now past two weeks, but many others like the Jazz players will hit their 2 weeks, next week.

I’m anxious to see how people are fairing. Then things like the percentages of positive tests vs deaths and the average recovery time. Followed by how this data compares to other viruses.

If you were of class, Mr oldno7, you would be asking your staff to enquire as to the availability of lavatory paper. Only the hoipoloi use a "toilet", and staff do not seat themselves in the back of a Rolls-Royce as you picture suggests.

Yes, this is what I'd like to see as well. I watched that video BlueEyes posted about Wuhan, and their cases dropped considerably after aggressive quarantine and increased public awareness. I'd like to see a similar drop off here at home. Unfortunately the media doesn't like to report about good news - only alarming, devastating, bad news.
It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

Regardless of which side of the fence the media sits on, they love a good story and this one is big money for them. I can guarantee that advertisers have flocked to news channels right now, because their ratings are through the roof. Everything else has been cancelled and the advertisers would have been spending big money on sporting events (March Madness) in the states and other events abroad. The news outlets will ride this wave as long as possible.

I just found this chart and now I need to do some math. I would also like to see the recovery time broken down by age.

Tyrants-Never let a good crisis go to waste.

Nancy tried to slip abortion funding into China virus economic bill. Governments shutting down gun and ammo sales. And now the speech police are coming out in full force.
