Remember the movie Independence Day when all those folks were buggin' out to the desert with their RVs? Perhaps that is what they're concerned about...a bunch of non locals wandering into town to scoop up supplies and groceries. Maybe it's already happening.
I think it's all about keeping the few grocery stores there stocked for their own residents...so they're sending Rangers out to cruise the backcountry? What if you're just passing thru and want to hit the store in Monticello to get some grub?...they gonna give you the evil eye?
Has to be about keeping people away, otherwise it makes no sense. Mormons are hardcore, man.Suddenly my feet are feet of mud

Figure me this. Italy has about 60M people, and an average age at death of 82 (lets say 80). So every year 750,000 folks have to die (and have been) . Am I wrong?
Against which the Corona Virus death toll seems to not be a big deal, especially since it is hitting folks who were likley to die anyway.
This whole Covid 19 affair seems like global hysteria

USA Today:
Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said the Trump administration wants checks of $1,000 per person and $500 per child to go out within three weeks of Congress passing a stimulus package.
"The plan is $500 billion in two tranches,” Mnuchin said on Fox Business’ Mornings with Maria. “The first one would be $1,000 per person, $500 per child," or $3,000 for a family of four, Mnuchin said. "As soon as Congress passes this, we will get this out in three weeks, and then six weeks later, if the president still has a national emergency, we'll deliver another $3,000."
Breaking down the administration's trillion-dollar proposal, Mnuchin said he also wanted $300 billion to go towards small businesses for “hiring people, keeping people on the payroll, and if they do, there will be loan forgiveness.”
Another component involved $200 billion for “securing lending to airlines, and for other critical industries.”
Mnuchin's plan has not been approved by Congress. Negotiations between congressional leaders and the White House are ongoing.

Delingpole: Woke ‘Hug a Chinese Person’ Propaganda Didn’t Age Well
Here is one of the videos, showing a Chinese girl in Milan exchanging hugs with passers-by.
Here is another, set in Florence this time, in which a Chinese man wearing a surgical mask (which he later removes) also offers himself up for hugs by Italian people in the street.
These videos — as the saying goes — have not aged well.
Northern Italy is now the home of the Coronavirus’s deadliest cluster, with hospitals overwhelmed, approaching 2,000 dead and the entire country in lockdown. Pity the poor fools who were seduced into giving out hugs when, really, the sensible money was on scaling back close physical contact with strangers.

I showed up to work Monday to help out and we had switched who we were sending tests to I had no idea why until today.

Getting supplies for respiratory testing is an issue now. Earthquake yesterday didn't help.
I still don't know anyone personally with Covid-19, but positives are definitely happening as I am sure you all know by the news, I think we are at 78 today. I still find all of the memes hilarious. Campus is pretty much shuttered and I am definitely taking the stay home and practice social distancing seriously and am ready for the long haul and have instructed the kid out of state to get ready.Chere'
