Yes and No... you need to understand a repeat of the Spanish Flu is exactly what we are trying to prevent.
If the same actions taken today were put in place in 1918 the Spanish Flu might have killed a lot less people. The Spanish Flu is the model many of our pandemic containment protocols are extracted from when dealing with Covid-19. Lots of good historical info on the Spanish Flu on YouTube without the current agenda's currently attached to Covid-19 if you get bored.
So there is that....

^^^^Agree,
yes because it is a current window, which is useful.
No-because we haven't finalized the curve and the end result can swing sharply--or not.

Rhode Island National Guard going door-to-door to find New Yorkers fleeing coronavirus
Rhode Island has started to deploy its National Guard to go door-to-door to find New Yorkers and make sure they stay quarantined for 14 days after fleeing their home state.
The National Guard was deployed in the state on Saturday to enforce the quarantine order for travelers from New York in addition to Rhode Island closing nonessential businesses. Democratic Gov. Gina Raimondo issued an order Friday for Rhode Island State Police to pull over vehicles with New York license plates and to make sure anyone from the state follows the quarantine.

New York has thrown away 20,000 hospital beds, complicating coronavirus fight
New York has lost a staggering 20,000 hospital beds over the last two decades to budget cuts and insurance overhauls, complicating local and state efforts to battle the coronavirus, according to records and experts.
The Empire State had 73,931 licensed hospital beds in 2000 before years of cuts and closures shrank the number to just 53,000 in 2020, according to records obtained by the New York State Nurses Association from the state Health Department and stats provided by officials.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday the health officials believe they will need anywhere from 55,000 to 110,000 hospital beds to treat the expected wave of coronavirus victims.
“New York has closed too many beds. They went too far,” said Judy Wessler, former head of the NY Commission on the Public’s Health System, about the 28 percent drop in beds.

Well that was the first speech Trump has given that didn't make my eyes roll not even once. Let's hope we are able to get going by June 1st.

Y'know, back in the late 70s my grandma had these tabloid magazines all over her house. I CLEARLY remember thinking that if this shit ever becomes "legit" news, we're screwed.
I recall that because the tabloids In England seemed to impact public opinion and it seemed particularly vicious. You got on their bad side, you were toast.Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
It all goes slo-mo
I don't know why I am crying
Am I suspended in Gaffa?

Coronavirus
I just had a random thought and was thinking about air pollution in SLC.
With way less cars and transportation going on in the cities, I hope health officials are analyzing the air especially during this time.
Later they will be able to say accurately that yes, cars are 50% responsible for the smog in the SLC valley, or that Kennecot gives off more pollution than we thought, and so on.
Who knows? But I am just hoping that some group is doing that.
In fact, this is probably a good time to do a lot of these types of studies with humans out of the way for the next 30 days or so.

From a social media standpoint, the biggest thing I'll be glad for when this crisis is over is the end of the non-stop public shaming of people that don't meet 'social distancing' guidelines.
"Not everyone in the entire family needs to go to the store. Only one person needs to go in. I just saw a family of 4 in the grocery store - do you people want to purposely kill your family? Get a clue!!!!!"
"Just went for an MTB ride. Look at these mindless morons that can't practive proper social distancing" (Inserts multiple picks at the TH of a few people after they just got out of their carpool ride to go biking".I learn from the mistakes of people who took my advice.
