^^Short answer...yes. More people will die as a result of the "cure" than the disease.

"Suicide and drug overdose kill over 100,000 in the US each year. The current projections of Covid19 are 60,000 deaths...which for numerous reasons is probably wildly overstated. Do you think suicides and drug and alcohol problems will rise with an unemployment rate of 30%? The shutdown is literally killing more people than it is saving." -Doug Cooper
^^^^^^^Trump said this very thing, weeks ago and dems/media laughed at the thought.I'm not Spartacus

15 House Democrats Call to Replenish Small Business Relief Fund Despite Pelosi’s Objections
On Thursday morning, the Small Business Administration’s (SBA) small business relief fund, otherwise known as the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), officially ran out of money.
The PPP’s loss of funding sparked outrage from congressional GOP leaders such as House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY).
Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) also called to replenish the fund “ASAP.”
As Speaker Pelosi continues to object to a clean refunding of the small business relief fund, House Democrats broke with the Democrat leader to call for immediate refunding of the PPP.

So, I was wrong. My theory was that there are less people dieing in auto accidents because of less clogged roads and less miles driven in Utah due to Chinese Virus corn teen. However, last weekend suggests it may be just the opposite. With less crowded roads,, it seems some people are driving very reckless, getting 100mph+ tickets, and causing high amount of fatal crashes. Last weekend there were 6 fatal deaths on Utah roads. How many died of the ‘rona?

^^^My son in law is a truck driver and warned me of two things to watch out for as I break out of corn-teen this weekend...
1. People are driving like idiots and at extremely high speeds.
2. The highway patrol are out in full force and watching the highways with much more diligenance then normal.
I'm taking the Vette and making a run for the border early Saturday morning. Spent the afternoon putting my radar detector and laser detectors back in the Vette as I plan to drive it like I stole it :-)

This is not a conspiracy theory--it's an actual department of justice, ongoing investigation.
Harvard University Professor and Two Chinese Nationals Charged in Three Separate China Related Cases
The Department of Justice announced today that the Chair of Harvard University’s Chemistry and Chemical Biology Department and two Chinese nationals have been charged in connection with aiding the People’s Republic of China.
Dr. Charles Lieber, 60, Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University, was arrested this morning and charged by criminal complaint with one count of making a materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statement. Lieber will appear this afternoon before Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler in federal court in Boston, Massachusetts.
Yanqing Ye, 29, a Chinese national, was charged in an indictment today with one count each of visa fraud, making false statements, acting as an agent of a foreign government and conspiracy. Ye is currently in China.
Zaosong Zheng, 30, a Chinese national, was arrested on Dec. 10, 2019, at Boston’s Logan International Airport and charged by criminal complaint with attempting to smuggle 21 vials of biological research to China. On Jan. 21, 2020, Zheng was indicted on one count of smuggling goods from the United States and one count of making false, fictitious or fraudulent statements. He has been detained since Dec. 30, 2019.

and yes--the investigation has been going on for several months and the story is not new.

Med student charged with research smuggling freed on bond

WORCESTER, Mass. (AP) — A medical student from China who U.S. authorities say tried to smuggle cancer research material out of the country has been freed on $100,000 bond over the objections of federal prosecutors.
Zaosong Zheng, 30, walked out of U.S. District Court in Worcester, Massachusetts on Friday but will remain under GPS-monitored house arrest, The Telegram & Gazette reported. His passport has also been confiscated.
Zheng was arrested in December at Logan International Airport in Boston with 21 vials of cancer cells in a suitcase he was taking to China, authorities said. Zheng stole the materials from his lab at Harvard-affiliated Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, authorities allege. The hospital has fired him.
He's charged with smuggling goods from the U.S. and making false statements.
The government has opposed his release. Prosecutors argue that he is a flight risk and may be working with the Chinese government, and have raised questions about the source of bail money posted by his wife.
Zheng has not been charged with conspiring with the Chinese government, and a federal judge Friday denied multiple requests from prosecutors that he remain in jail.
Zheng and his wife declined comment outside of court. One of his attorneys, David Duncan, said he does not believe his client did anything wrong.
Federal authorities haven been aggressively going after Chinese researchers in the U.S., some of whom they say work on behalf of the Chinese government to steal the work of American academics.
Last month, a Harvard University professor was charged with lying about his ties to a Chinese-run recruitment program and concealing payments he received from the Chinese government for research.I'm not Spartacus
