US flu death toll hits 22K, hospitalization rates high for children, young adults

ATLANTA (Gray News) – Flu activity in the United States remains high, but is down for the fourth week in a row, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported Friday.

The CDC estimates that so far this season there have been at least 22,000 deaths, 36 million flu illnesses, 370,000 hospitalizations.

Tulsi Gabbard calls for giving Americans $1K a month during coronavirus outbreak

Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) called for introducing a universal basic income (UBI) of $1,000 a month until coronavirus "no longer presents a public health emergency."
"Most Americans don't have that safety emergency bank account even for a short term, what to speak of if you're talking about weeks, or in this case people are looking at potentially months," Gabbard said in an interview on Hill.TV.
Her proposal, H.R. 897, would give a UBI of $1,000 per month to all adult Americans “until COVID-19 no longer presents a public health emergency.”

So I hit the store last night, figured I better buy some stuff considering restaurants are closing down. Looks like a bomb went off in there...all the meat, eggs, milk, canned goods were cleaned out and the rest of the store was picked over pretty good. Plenty of candy, though. Also plenty of potato chips, condiments and old school TV dinners.

The TV dinners thing surprised me...ya know, those heat-n-eat things. I figured they'd be gone. People used to eat a lot of those...but I guess no more.

Here's another surprise...this is the Kosher aisle. So either the folks that buy this stuff are already loaded up or even the Jews won't eat this shit. Looks like if things get real bad it'll get down to Matzo balls and Gefilte fish.
