Cold Float down Green River, Dam to Little Hole

Had a fun time with the boys, they've been going this time of year for about 11 year for the Brown spawn season. Very cold, snowing on us while waist high in the water, but there were some warmer days too. We had sunshine on the last day, ended on a good note.

We floated twice down the river from the Flaming Gorge Dam to Little Hole.

Funny story, LeRoy has a new $1200 rod, leaves it on the bank at our lunch spot and realizes it about 2 miles down river. So we decided to float one more time the next day to try our luck that nobody found it. He got lucky and remembered where he left it, found it the next pass on the river.

We had a drift boat and also an 8 man raft with a frame. I rowed the river in each rig while the boys fished.

Oh, were there "no drones" signs by the dam? I must have missed it. I knew not to fly right at the dam anyways because it's a power plant. I thought I saw some "no fishing" signs at the ramp one time, but I couldn't find them this weekend, maybe it's seasonal for the crowds at the ramp.

Yeah this stretch of the Green River is full of fish, they've been fished, lured, baited, caught and released so much that they are very particular, sometimes very difficult to catch if you don't have exactly what it takes.

In the Summer, there were dozens of turkey vultures riding the updrafts of the dam.
