Zion Pine Creek July 13 - Lost Rope

I stuck a rope on the first rap in Pine Creek on Saturday. The end came down on the debris in-between stages and buried itself into the rocks and got stuck. A party behind us tried to free the end right there AT the stuck part and were unable to free it. I came the next day noonish to rap in and get it, but it was gone.

The rope is a 135' 8mm rope, tan w black tracers, in a very beat up Imlay rope bag with a carabiner. Please PM me if you know its whereabouts.

    Thanks. Tom

Perhaps you should try more beginner friendly canyons before stepping up to Pine Creek.

On a more serious note -- how the heck did you escape the canyon without your rope? Isn't the second rappel the Golden Cathedral?

It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

    Pine Creek, Zion -

Last rappel is about 90 feet. Longest rappel otherwise is about 55 feet.

Party of 6. We had three ropes in the 100 to 150 foot range.

I also had a FiddleStick and a 200' micro pull cord.

I know this canyon is a long way from the road, so it is AMAZING that we carried SO MUCH rope into this ultra-backcountry canyon. (/sarcasm)

YOU have remarkable powers, to start in Zion, and end up in Neon Canyon / Escalante. I did not see the wormhole that went there, but...

Ha!...you beat me to it. I was gonna come in and spank his ass for that one.

Although I recall someone I was with saying some kind of "name" of that last rap in Pine...can't remember what it was bit it sounded appropriate.

Think we could get "Glory Hole" to stick?
Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
    It all goes slo-mo
    I don't know why I am crying
    Am I suspended in Gaffa?

    On Bogley, yes.

    Elsewhere, probably not.
