Memorial Day Weekend Slot Canyon Rescues

    Dear Canyoneer -

    It is not Summer yet.

Please plan your trips accordingly when departing on your slot canyon trips. Don't be like these two bonehead groups who got stranded and required a SAR rescue over the weekend. Hypothermia was a common theme in both rescues.

Strike Two in Capitol Reef is not for day hiker tourists...there are some serious down climbs in there with no anchors for those that can't handle them. Easy for some, impossible for others.

They had to do a big rap to get into it, so you'd think they had at least one person who could get them thru it? Cold water can kick some ass, huh?

    Are the serious downclimbs rap-able?
