    Coldwater Canyon in North Ogden

Coldwater Canyon is in great condition now, completely clear. I did a great 9 miles last night, I'll have video clips later.

My wife ran with our dog while I went on ahead, turned around and met her again.

I hike on this trail pretty frequently. It receives a ton of traffic which can be annoying at times. I once counted over 100 people one evening last summer.

Yeah I'm sure my KSL.com article didn't help either ha ha

On certain nights especially near the end of summer, these trails will be filled with people that realize they haven't gotten outside the whole year and make some last efforts to get outdoors. You can usually categorize them by their attire, sometimes old hiking gear that looks brand new, shoes, sun shade hats, trekking poles, exhausted as hell.

BTW -- I meant to mention this before but the mouth of Coldwater Canyon was just recently purchased by some douchebag who has gone and posted No Trespassing signs all over the place. You used to be able to walk from Harrison Blvd on a dirt road to the mouth of Coldwater, but now all access has been restricted. He's got gates and extra fencing along with the signage that he's posted.

Interesting, I haven't heard this yet. Is it on an official trail?

So it's a well defined dirt road that heads east from Harrison Blvd (North Mountain Road) and winds around to the mouth of Coldwater.

See photo -- the heavy black lines where the yellow meets the red line is a locked gate with about a dozen no trespassing signs posted. You used to be able to walk from North Mountain Road to the mouth of Coldwater Canyon and right up the guts of the canyon, but that's no longer possible without trespassing on private property.

I would think that this road is at the very least a County easement since there's a water treatment facility located at the end of this road, right inside this guy's property.

Maybe they'll throw somebody in jail for 6 months and fine them $1000
