Thread: Armed Citizen

Own a musket for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended.

Four ruffians break into my house.

"What the devil?" As I grab my powdered wig and Kentucky rifle.

Blow a golf ball sized hole through the first man, he's dead on the spot.

Draw my pistol on the second man, misses him entirely because it's smooth-bore and nails the neighbor's dog.

I have to resort to the cannon mounted at the top of the stairs loaded with grape shot.

"Tally ho lads!" The grape shot shreds two men in the blast, the sound and extra shrapnel set off car alarms.

Fix bayonet and charge the last terrified rapscallion.

Bleeds out waiting on the police to arrive since triangular bayonet wounds are impossible to stitch up.

Just as the founding fathers intended.

"Rapscallion" will be added to my vocabulary once I have perfected the proper usage of "miscreant".

A 7-Eleven customer stopped a potentially deadly robbery in Virginia Beach this morning when he used his firearm to defend against masked, armed men who stormed the store.

"Thank God for that guy," said a customer. "I want to thank that guy personally. I want to buy him a steak dinner."

I get it, making a great point, but that gun can be snatched away from that chick so damned fast. Not to mention the public disturbance she's causing. Sure, educating the people is a good cause, but that's a lot of chaos to cause by choosing to educate them that way.

Her performance needs to be absolutely spot on perfect to pull off that demonstration, and that can be exhausting. She'll slip up at one point, and that's where the plan will go south, and possibly evolve into hindering our rights to open carry.

^^^Good luck trying to snatch that gun away... that's a good way to get shot.

It's better to have and not need than it is to need and not have....

    YMMV

Concur, but that being stated, she could have chosen a better holster..

Funny thing about this...I wouldn't be bothered at all. However there are those that would absolutely freak out.

I was on the board of my HOA here for many years and we had a young couple come in to complain about our "security guard"...it's a pretty safe neighborhood, so his job is to mostly ticket cars that haven't moved. He cruises thru one a week...move it or we'll tow it type thing. Anyway, he's armed...along with the shirt, belt, boots and other cop like accoutrements.

The couple were bothered with his firearm. "Can't he do his job without the gun?" they asked. All five of us literally laughed them out of the room. Never saw them again.
Suddenly my feet are feet of mud
    It all goes slo-mo
    I don't know why I am crying
    Am I suspended in Gaffa?

Funny thing is I would actually feel a little safer seeing that guy sitting at the counter of a restaurant I was dining it.

It's always nice to know you won't have to face a violent threat alone :-)
