Don't get sick, don't have kids and screw college and everything is affordable. Worked for me!

Not sure what kind of cars they used in their calculations, but the ones I like more than doubled in price.

    Same with boats.

I bought a new, loaded F-150 in 2004 for $34K...the same truck today would cost $44K. Loaded XLT, not the Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch...

Indeed, although I think that graph is reasonably accurate, I'd say they missed it on the new vehicles...although you can still buy a tiny little go cart car for under 20K.

Seen the price of the new Jeep Wranglers? Those things were always expensive new but now they're just ridiculous. The thing to do is buy vehicles used that were obviously just city grocery getters.

Cars are not an apples to apples comparison because they build them much better and to last much longer today.

For example my 1970 Corvette stickered for $6452.00, which is $41,856 in 2019 dollars.

But a comparable new 2019 Corvette stickers for about $80,000, which is almost double

The older cars were meant to be used up and scrapped much earlier then cars today. The cars today are built much better then even 20 years ago, quality costs money.
