Thread: hey bogley, what daaay is it today

Thank you, sir. I getting ready to head on yet another road trip. Going to Trapper's Lake in the Flattops Wilderness for a week or so of hiking...then I'll likely head into Wyoming. I'll be out for three weeks, maybe longer?

While I'm certainly disappointed with the notion of AMERICA, THE LAND OF THE FREE! being so twisted and perverted...I'm certainly happy that my country isn't so far gone that you can't start with absolutely nothing and become quite successful. Although that remains intact, I think the notion of safety and security is being compromised the most...that's why I seek solace away from the cities...it just feels safer, calmer, more peaceful. Without a doubt the cities are where the money is, but you gotta put your head down and grind it out...save up a nice stash and then book outta town. At least that was my strategy the whole time...20 years ago I said before I'm 60 I'm gonna have myself set up and it happened. Hard work, dedication, a few bold moves and just a touch of luck.

Yes, it is good to be King. Funny thing about that...you think of where you want to be 20 years from now and before you know it...you're there.
The end of the world for some...
The foundation of paradise for others.

Funny how news travels so quickly amongst not only friends, but people you wouldn't have imagined were "connected".

So as I was waiting for my truck camper to be built I went ahead and did quite a few jobs and promised a few select people that when the weather warmed up I'd either paint or refresh their houses. Just a few and this morning I completed my last full on exterior, ever. I mean it, too...I'm getting rid of the sprayer and the big boy ladder...can't do jack shit exterior wise without those two things.

I'll still work every now and then (my phone will be ringing long after I'm dead) but only the gravy work for mad money and to maintain some relationships...there are dozens of people over the years that have really sold me to others and I owe them a lot. Interior work, easy outside stuff...I'm going to have to learn to say "no". That's one of the main reasons I bought the camper...can't paint a thing when I'm a thousand miles away!

So I complete John Sheflick's house today and he wants me to sign the back of his shed to signify the event...the shed will go back up against the house and no one will see what I wrote until that thing gets pulled away again God knows when. I told him when I started last week that he was the "last one" and he was quite pleased about that...he got lucky...he had a guy build an excellent fence around his back yard and then got a real good paint job. It's hard getting good work done these days.

Welcome, just a couple years ahead of you.

No is a hard word to learn when you made a career on making things happen, no matter the difficulty.
    I still get calls.
Have one past client/friend I have a much harder time saying "no" to.

Lets celebrate someone who never came to America and how our teachers lied to us in school about the history of America. I can't even imagine what they are teaching now.
