It's only "science" if it supports the narrative.

    lol.

I read something the other day that trump can layoff furloughed workers after 30 days or so? I doubt he will, but if they are really unnecessary, could be a way to save some cash.

The people that I feel bad for are the poor schlubs who still have to show up to work everyday but not get paid. They should all just not go to work and we can really test the idea that they are unnecessary. Airport lines would definitely be faster without TSA. We could also test the left to see how comfortable they are with true diversity when they board an unsecured 747 with a group of young middle eastern men.

Too bad no such people exist... everyone who is working will get paid for the hours they work, they are just not being paid in a timely manner. That's a big difference...

Is there anyone on this forum that hasn't had that happen to them at least once working in the private sector?

The part I have a problem with is the ones sitting home and not working will also be paid.

    YMMV

Also... congress could easily fix all government shutdown problems. Simply pass a bill that states if a budget has not been agreed upon the government is automatically funded at the current level for another two weeks.

Fixing this shit is simple, Congress do your job!!!

Usually if that happens in the private sector you should diligently be looking for another job because your current job is about to file for Chapter 11.

    I speak from sad experience.

Become the owner of a business and you'll discover not being paid in a timely manner is pretty much a way of life.

That's for sure. Ever since I quit my day job to become a jigolo my income has become sporadic at best.

Great way to stay in shape tho.

Pelosi just said no to the State of the Union address in the House.

I have a feeling that Pelosi just stepped into a trap.

She's trying to outwit Trump. Of course it's a trap. She's back there moving her pawns out and Trump has already put her in checkmate.

You know those petty little arguments you have with your spouse over inane little things like the TV remote or which way the toilet paper should fall off the roll?

Yeah well, those seem downright academic compared to this Pelosi/Trump debacle....

And Trump tells her to pound sand, I'm doing my constitutional duty, and giving my speech anyway.

This is setting a nice precedent on the President.

This strikes of dirty harry going nuclear and something about elections have consequences.

Will at least be entertaining but surely not civil.

The house dems would be very wise to forcibly remove san fran nan as speaker.(but--wisdom and dems=oxymoron)
