Well I'll be! I didn't know one of the Bee Gees was a driver. (dude on the second to the top row, far left.)

That's Tim Richmond.... If I was robbing a bank and needed a getaway driver it would have been Tim Richmond without a doubt.

Cole Trickle (Tom Cruise) in Days of Thunder was loosely based on Tim Richmond and his relationship with crew chief Harry Hyde, played by Robert Duvall and called Harry Hogge in the movie.

Richmond was probably the most naturally talented driver in that picture. If it had wheels Richmond could drive it. Richmond was one of the first drivers to come from Open Wheel to drive the Taxi Cabs and paved the way for others like Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart and Danica Patrick to follow.

Richmond lived on a sailboat and had a pet alligator, which is where Miami Vice got the idea for Crockett in the TV show.

Richmond would also screw anything that walked, and he usually had a line of pit lizards just waiting their turn. He died of AID's not long after that picture was taken.

I never met anyone that loved being a race car driver more then Richmond. On Saturday night before the race he would usually stroll through the spectator motor homes chatting to anyone that would listen and just happy to be where he was. Most professional athletes tolerate fan's, but Richmond truly loved them.

Gotta love it...every racer is smiling except Ironhead.

Not sure who the Nationwide (front), Valvoline (3rd) or Motorcraft (5th) drivers are.

    Valvoline - Ron Bouchard

Indy 1962, Dan Gurney having a little chat with Benson Ford before the race. Dan probably is saying I know about this great little car with a great designer and driver who would like to come here and race next year. He can bring two cars and I will be in one of them. I think the Ford would drop nicely into that Lotus chases. Jim and I will give them a real go and can probably win the race. Benson replies Great, we have a deal. I don't know if that's the real details but sounds about right to me...

Jolenne, do you remember where I parked the Corvette?

Somewhere in 1969 a Go-Go cage is missing a dancer.
